Excelent Tuesday Venezuela!

Hoy quise unirme a la iniciativa "¿Qué es lo que más te gusta de VENEZUELA?" para compartir con ustedes una de las cosas que más me gusta sobre Venezuela, sus gastronomía. Y es que bien dicen que si quieres conocer a un país de verdad, lo primero que debes hacer es probar su comida y creo que es cierta esa afirmación.

Today I wanted to join the initiative "What do you like most about VENEZUELA?" to share with you one of the things I like most about Venezuela, its gastronomy. And it is well said that if you want to know a real country, the first thing you should do is try its food and I think that statement is true.

Cada país posee sabores, olores, sazones e ingredientes únicos y característicos entre su gastronomía y Venezuela no se queda atrás. Tenemos un menú de platos ricos en cultura e historia, que se han vuelto parte de nuestra identidad a donde sea que vayamos por eso quiero mostrarles algunos de los platos venezolanos que he hecho en casa recientemente para que conozcan o reconozcan algunos de ellos.

Each country has unique and characteristic flavors, smells, seasonings and ingredients among its gastronomy and Venezuela is not far behind. We have a menu of dishes rich in culture and history, which have become part of our identity wherever we go, so I want to show you some of the Venezuelan dishes that I have recently made at home so that you know or recognize some of them.

El resultado de la gastronomía venezolana está asociado, en muchos casos, a nuestros antepasados, quienes a partir de la invasión española a nuestras tierras, comenzaron a desarrollar lo que sería parte de la gastronomía venezolana que se ve en nuestro país y que actualmente se encuentra recorriendo el mundo entero.

The result of Venezuelan gastronomy is associated, in many cases, with our ancestors, who, after the Spanish invasion of our lands, began to develop what would become part of the Venezuelan gastronomy that is seen in our country and that is currently touring the whole world.

También, vemos como otra parte de nuestra gastronomía se encuentra identificada como por "accidente" y por creaciones a partir de, esto según muchas historias recopiladas en la web donde se asegura que muchas de las historias detrás de nuestros platos típicos fueron creados a partir de estos dos principios mencionados.

Also, we see how another part of our gastronomy is identified as by "accident" and by creations from, this according to many stories collected on the web where it is ensured that many of the stories behind our typical dishes were created from these two mentioned principles.

Muchos son los platillos venezolanos que se cocinan en los hogares y familias venezolanas, pero no son siempre los más populares los que concentran el mayor arraigo a nuestra cultura gastronómica. Pero no cabe duda de que los platos más populares se han ganado en corazón de todo el país y poco a poco se van adueñando de los corazones (y paladares) del mundo entero.

There are many Venezuelan dishes that are cooked in Venezuelan homes and families, but they are not always the most popular ones that have the greatest roots in our gastronomic culture. But there is no doubt that the most popular dishes have won the hearts of the entire country and little by little they are taking over the hearts (and palates) of the entire world.

En casa, nuestra comida siempre se ha caracterizado por ser parte de un recetario familiar que data de muchos años, como pasa en muchas casas y familias venezolanas y del mundo entero. Heredamos esos sabores, costumbres, recetas y secretos de la cocina de generación en generación con la esperanza de que nuestros platos continúen viviendo en el futuro.

At home, our food has always been characterized by being part of a family recipe book that dates back many years, as it happens in many houses and families in Venezuela and around the world. We inherit those flavors, customs, recipes and cooking secrets from generation to generation with the hope that our dishes will continue to live on in the future.

Los sabores que hay en Venezuela no se pueden comparar a ningún otro y ningún otro sabor de afuera puede compararse al venezolano; y eso lo comparten todos los países del mundo.

The flavors that exist in Venezuela cannot be compared to any other and no other flavor from abroad can be compared to the Venezuelan; and that is shared by all the countries of the world.

La gastronomía venezolana nos presenta un abanico de variedades rico en historia, sabores y complejidad que lo hacen tan único como cualquier otro en el mundo. Nos paseamos por platos completos para cualquier momento del día o para cualquier ocasión del año. Lo mismo ocurre con los postres y pasapalos/snacks, son una puerta a historia de nuestro país y por medio de nuestra gastronomía, podemos conocer más de nosotros mismos que de otra forma.

Venezuelan gastronomy presents us with a range of varieties rich in history, flavors and complexity that make it as unique as any other in the world. We stroll through complete dishes for any time of the day or for any occasion of the year. The same thing happens with desserts and appetizers/snacks, they are a door to the history of our country and through our gastronomy, we can learn more about ourselves than otherwise.

Pero no todo ciudadano venezolano conoce la gastronomía de su país, incluso yo no la termino de conocer del todo, porque abarca más de lo que hemos podido ver y aún nos falta por conocer de los sabores de nuestra tierra.

But not every Venezuelan citizen knows the gastronomy of his country, even I do not finish knowing it completely, because it covers more than what we have been able to see and we still need to know about the flavors of our land.

Cada región del país nos abraza con sus platillos y sus historias. Comidas como los famosos "Patacones", las deliciosas y dulces "Mandocas" acompañadas con queso llanero rallado, también el "Palo a Píque" llanero por la mañana, una caliente "Pisca Andina" para aguantar el frío descomunal que se vive en la hermosa Mérida y por supuesto una refrescante "Chicha Criolla" que se puede adquirir en cualquier chichero del país.

Each region of the country embraces us with its dishes and its stories. Meals like the famous "Patacones", the delicious and sweet "Mandocas" accompanied with grated llanero cheese, also the "Palo a Píque" llanero in the morning , a hot "Pisca Andina" to withstand the enormous cold that is experienced in the beautiful Mérida and of course a refreshing "Chicha Criolla" that can be purchased at any country shed.

Pero no dejemos de lado nuestra gastronomía dulce, una de mis debilidades en nuestra comida y por la que este post fue inspirado ya que albergamos una deliciosa y muy representativa cantidad de postres y dulces que nos hacen viajar en el tiempo en cada bocado que comemos.

But let's not leave aside our sweet gastronomy, one of my weaknesses in our food and for which this post was inspired, since we host a delicious and very representative number of desserts and sweets that make us travel back in time in each bite we eat.

Nuestro reconocido y amado "Quesillo" no puede faltar en ninguna celebración en el país, un buen "Beso de Coco" de inmediato te lleva a una de las cientos de playas paradisíacas que tenemos regadas por todo el país, un suave pero crujiente "Buñuelo" nos recuerda las fiestas de pascuas cada años que lo hacemos en casa y nuestros "Dulces de Guayaba y Plátano" son el bocado perfecto para quitarnos cualquier antojo de azúcar que tengamos (aunque son altamente adicctivos).

Our renowned and beloved "Quesillo" cannot be missing from any celebration in the country, a good "Coconut Kiss" immediately takes you to one of the hundreds of paradisiacal beaches that we have scattered throughout the country, a soft but crunchy "Buñuelo" reminds us of the Easter parties every year that we make it at home and our "Guava and Banana Sweets" are the bite perfect to take away any sugar cravings we have (although they are highly addictive).

Es por eso que la gastronomía venezolana es lo que más me gusta de este país. Nos permite conocer más sobre nuestra tierra, nos da nuevos sabores al paladar y nos identifica como venezolanos a donde sea que vayamos en el mundo.

That is why Venezuelan gastronomy is what I like the most about this country. It allows us to learn more about our land, gives us new flavors to the palate and identifies us as Venezuelans wherever we go in the world.
