El mes de diciembre se llena cada año de un ambiente de alegría y gozo por la celebración en el mundo entero del nacimiento de Jesús, el Hijo de Dios, a la tierra. Aunque no hay fecha exacta de este hecho, fue escogido el último mes del año para celebrarlo y henos aquí, celebrando la natividad más importante del mundo entero.

Esa en parte es la navidad y hoy quiero compartirles un poco lo que es esta fecha en mi casa.

Creo que tradiciones hemos dejado muchas de ellas atrás, algunas para bien, pero otras en cierto modo, siguen formando parte de nuestras vidas, aunque no nos aferramos a ellas, ahí están. Sin duda, la que más se acentúa en todos los hogares venezolanos en cuanto a tradición es la cena navideña, no es secreto para ningún venezolano que en estas fechas una cena navideña es lo que muchos esperamos y a veces es lo único que hacemos durante Diciembre.

Una hallaca, un pan de jamón, una buena ensalada de gallina, el pernil o el enrrollado, hacen que cualquiera comience a sentir las fechas un poco más especiales. En casa todo se hace desde cero, casi nunca se compra algo hecho. La cena navideña creo que es lo más cercano a una tradición que aún conservamos en casa y si esta no se puede llevar a cabo por cualquier motivo, no pasa nada, no nos aferramos a ella porque no es lo que nos define.

En casa siempre hemos celebrado la navidad entre nosotros, el núcleo familiar, pero conforme los años pasan, nos hemos podido compartir estas fechas con nuestras familias extendidas, los que se encuentran en otros estados del país, ya sea nosotros viajando hasta donde están ellos o ellos viajando hasta donde estamos nosotros.
At home we have always celebrated Christmas among ourselves, the family nucleus, but as the years go by, we have been able to share these dates with our extended families, those who are in other states of the country, whether it is us traveling to where they are or them traveling to where we are.
La dinámica ha cambiado en los últimos años debido a muchos factores, uno de ellos es la diáspora que el país ha enfrentado desde hace muchos años lo cual ha impedido que estamos todos juntos en el país. Otro factor ha sido el crecimiento del núcleo familiar el cual ha dado la bienvenida a esposos y esposas de mis hermanos y con la llegada de mi primera sobrina, por lo cual ya no es una navidad de 5 sino de 8 y seguirá creciendo.
The dynamics have changed in recent years due to many factors, one of which is the diaspora that the country has faced for many years, which has prevented us from being all together in the country. Another factor has been the growth of the family nucleus which has welcomed the husbands and wives of my brothers and with the arrival of my first niece, for which it is no longer a Christmas of 5 but of 8 and it will continue to grow.
Cenamos en familia todos, luego llega el postre que nunca puede faltar (torta negra, quesillo o lo que sea), pasamos la noche conversando o nos vamos todos a ver una película. Para el día 31 si hemos incorporado una dinámica que normalmente se hace el 24 de Diciembre que es el "Intercambio de regalos familiar" en donde nos regalamos exclusivamente chucherías, porque todos tenemos problemas con el azúcar y así atacamos el problema, con más azúcar. Es un momento divertido porque solemos esconder los regalos en casa y hay que buscarlos para poder reclarmarlos.
We all have dinner as a family, then the dessert that can never be missing arrives (black cake, cheese or whatever), we spend the night talking or we all go to see a movie. Este año, Hive ha sido una de las herramientas digitales más útiles que he podido aprovechar. Llegó en un momento de mi vida en donde no sabía cómo iba a comenzar a retomar muchas cosas que había dejado de lado por concentrarme en otras que me estaban alejando de lo que quería hacer pero que no sabía cómo iba a hacerlas.
This year, Hive has been one of the most useful digital tools I've been able to take advantage of. It came at a time in my life where I didn't know how I was going to start to resume many things that I had put aside to focus on others that were taking me away from what I wanted to do but I didn't know how I was going to do them.
Así que mi deseo para Hive es que continúe siendo un espacio de creatividad, oportunidad, esparcimiento, libertad y expresión artística no solo para mi, sino para todos lo que están y los que estoy seguro de que vendrán a formar parte de ella. Que no dejen de crecer comunidades que hagan de esta plataforma un lugar de encuentro para los que no han hallado un espacio donde expresarse.
So my wish for Hive is that it continues to be a space of creativity, opportunity, recreation, freedom and artistic expression not only for me, but for all who are there and who I am sure will become part of it. Don't stop growing communities that make this platform a meeting place for those who have not found a space to express themselves.

Esta navidad nos faltó la ensalada de gallina, pero para fin de año me pondré pilas para hacerla. Esa nunca puede faltar en una cena como estas, además que es una de mis preferidas jaja.
