Sure, but "the old ways" won't support food production at current levels without (modern) petrochemical fertilizer (and coal).
Therefore, we're facing a brutal game of musical-chairs in the not-too-distant future.
Ok, the fittest will survive.
The improvident will die.
This is life before industrialization.
I wouldn't get too worked up over speculative situations.
Work ethic and intelligence will mean next to nothing.
If your family has a history of Caesarean births, you will die out.
Technological artifacts will sway the balance of power during the transition, but about 20 years in, they'll be next to useless.
Depends, not all the computer chip makers will die, and electicity is pretty easy to make on the small scale, just more work intensive on the large scale.
There is no reason to suspect that we would drop back any further than the early 20th century.
As most things were made within riding distance, or less, and those that weren't just took longer to get.
