Today I spent about an hour trying to land a hellflip. I got close—really close. There’s something about that trick that inspires me deeply. It feels impossible, but I know I can crack it. I didn’t want to practice anything else. I believe that if you focus on one thing, by the end of the day you’ll have unlocked technique and revived forgotten habits.

I managed to take some better shots from underneath the ramp. The light hit just right.

Still, skating here in San Cristóbal, Venezuela, is tough. The Metropolitan Park is beautiful, but it’s full of uncomfortable obstacles. Parents with babies walk right into the ramps, unaware of the danger. If we accidentally bump into them, they blame the skaters. It’s frustrating. The authorities don’t care. Building a skatepark in a public family park was a bad idea.

But we keep skating. We keep pushing.

Skateboarding is more than tricks—it’s rebellion, philosophy, and rhythm. It’s the poetry of motion, the echoin your head, the precision of every flip. It’s the existential challenge of carving space in a world that doesn’t understand you.

Hoy estuve cerca de una hora intentando conseguir el hellflip. Estuve cerca, muy cerca. Ese truco me inspira profundamente. Parece imposible, pero sé que puedo descifrarlo. No quise practicar nada más. Creo que si te enfocas en una sola cosa, al final del día habrás desbloqueado técnica y desempolvado costumbres olvidadas.

Logré tomar mejores fotos desde abajo de la rampa. La luz dio justo en el momento.

Aún así, patinar aquí en San Cristóbal, Venezuela, es difícil. El Parque Metropolitano es hermoso, pero está lleno de obstáculos incómodos. Padres con bebés se atraviesan en las rampas sin saber el peligro. Si los tocamos por accidente, nos culpan a los skaters. Es frustrante. A las autoridades no les importa. Construir un skatepark en un parque público y familiar fue una mala idea.

Pero seguimos patinando. Seguimos empujando.
