I joined Steemit seven years ago because I wanted to find a decent platform for developing applications.
I admit, I did not like the interface. The steemit interface appeared to be buggy and hard to support.
Sadly, it appears that many of the people who developed apps seem to be having a hard time supporting their apps.
I developed several apps. Sadly, bad things kept happening. Justin Sun ran a hostile take over of STEEM. The steem-engine project failed. HIVE started offering 20% interest on HIVE. This meant that HBD would extract any value that I created with an app.
I guess I am glad that I never took any project live.
The sad part is that I appear to have simply stop developing projects. Since I threw good money after HIVE, I figure that I should do at least one project on HIVE. Rather than writing a bunch of code, I think I will do a HIVE Tribe.
The Review the World
I created the Review the World community back in 2020. I wanted feedback on the community before creating the #RTW token.
For some reason that was never explained, I was thrown into the @spaminator downvote list. So, I gave up on the project.
I am glad that I did not release the token as I would have done everything in my power to protect the token's value.
Considering the way that HIVE treats potential developers, giving up was the best course of action.
Five Years Later
I was just looking at TribalDex tokens page. It currently shows 12 pages with a hundred tokens a page. That is 1200 tokens! Only 56 of the tokens had a daily trading volume over a dollar a day.
Sadly, #hive-engine appears to be a wasteland of failed dreams.
IMHO, most of the tribal tokens were poorly designed. The token designers simply minted too many coins.
I want to create a token that held its HIVE value.
For my project, I just created the Review the World token.
I do not want to mint too many tokens. So, this is my thought: It costs 2100 BEE to create a token with a smart contract and one diesel pool. 2100 BEE currently costs about 1,116 HIVE. Lets round down to an even thousand.
I will mint 100,000 RTW with a bid price of 0.01 SWAP.HIVE. The reported market capitalization is 1,000 HIVE. HIVE was trading at a dime; so the USD marcap is $100 ... but I won't worry about that.
No ICO and No Airdrop
Many tokens started with airdrops to whales. The whales end up selling the coins and the coins crash. So, I decided to forego the airdrop and won't start selling any coins for a couple of weeks.
Please don't bid on the coins as there are no coins on the open market.
The idea is that if I drastically limit the coins float, I will be able to maintain the coins value.
The Community Account.
I created the coin with the @irivers account. The home page for the tribe is on on irivers.com.
The account is currently working as a dedicated curator the STEM tribe. It currently has a small stack of coins worth about $20 USD.
| Symbol | Coins | HIVE Bid | HIVE Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| STEM | 70,993 | 0.00137 | 97 |
| POB | 9,751 | 0.00585 | 57 |
| WAIV | 80 | 0.33401 | 26 |
| VYB | 10,822 | 0.00100 | 10 |
| BYTE | 105,466 | 0.00000 | 0 |
The account also holds comment tokens and a few other low value coins.
The account is currently worth about 200 HIVE. This is about a fifth of the RTW market cap. @irivers will buy RTW at the account's reported value. This value will grow as I write posts for the account.
NOTE: There won't be any coins to buy for a week or so; So, don't bother wasting SWAP.HIVE on bids.
Building a Database
Few of the tribes are building anything. I want to use the community to build a database about merger chains.
I want to do this because there are not enough good databases on the web at the moment that explore merger chains.
The community is actually building something of some value ... even if it is only marginal value.
I want to drop several sample articles before I push the coin. Quality takes time.
The Controversial Self Vote
At this moment, the account @yintercept holds 100% of the RTW.
I will drop articles about merger chains on @irivers . I intend to upvote the articles that I write.
It takes a huge amount of effort to write the articles. Some times it takes 10 hours or more to properly research a single article ... for which I am lucky to get one HIVE in upvotes.
So, yes, I intend to upvote my own articles. You can downvote me for this if you like ... but I don't care.
Since it takes several hours of research for each article which I will write by hand, I will often cross post with the #proofofbrain tag.
Please note the structure. The RTW community owns the @irivers account. Any rewards that I receive for the @irivers posts will got into the RTW community to support the RTW coin.
Several communities use this exact same format. The administrators write the post for the community account and then upvote the post that they wrote.
Since the community receives the reward, this structure is not base token harvesting. The effort is to build a community around a topic.
The BuyAndBurn Account
I also own the @buynburn account. The @buyandburn account will periodically write articles about HIVE coins.
The goal of these articles is to maintain interest in HE development.
The @buyandburn account will sell the HIVE, HBD and RTW earned from posts. It will then use the funds to buy and burn HE tokens. If you look you will see that the account has burned several million tokens so far.
I intend to upvote the @buynburn posts. Funds from the post end up supporting the silly little tokens on #hive-engine.
I Expect To Be Down Voted Out of Existence
I experimented with this community design back in 2020.
I was thrown into the @spaminator downvote list for the effort.
Infuriatingly, #hive-watchers never told me why they down voted the project. The project was doing the things that hive tribes need to do to support the value of the precious little he tokens.
Conclusion
I just created the token RTW for a community account I created back in 2020. I've spent a huge amount of time watching the value of tribal tokens crash and I want to examine ways to develop tokens that hold their HIVE value.
Please don't bid on the coin at this moment. I wish to be slow and deliberate in the process.
Sadly, I expect to be down voted out of existence for trying to support the platform. The main reason that I am doing this is because HIVE made me so depressed that I stopped developing web sites altogether.
Credits
I used grok to help with the layout of Review the World homepage. I created the image of a tinkerer in his shop at the top of this page with Night Cafe.
PS: Please don't bid for the coin at this point. It will take a week or so before any coins are up for bid. When they are ready, I will probably sell the coins for 0.0101 SWAP.HIVE and buy back at 0.01 SWAP.HIVE.
When you do open it, mind tagging me to remind me? It's a shame that so many hive engine tokens are shit, and I think it is for sure bad tokenomics and massive dumps.
I held onto BRO until the bitter end, so I don't really sell things sadly lol
The program won't have an ICO. I think I will start the smart contract and start writing articles at the beginning of the year.
The big question is if people find articles about merger chains interesting. If I make any money from the effort, I will try to turn it into a product backed by a database, and entry screen. I might even create a blockchain style database.
I think merger chains are interesting as they expose negative aspects of the financial world.
Lets see: It looks like I have 763 free BEE and about 300 BEE stuck in the silly diesel pools. So the smart contract is just a few clicks away.

Yeah that's a good idea - so if I wanted to get a little bit of the assets I'd write something for the community? I haven't written a well-researched article since the Steem days in terms of crypto related things, but I've got a few out there! :D
No pressure on the contract though, only was interested. I've enjoyed my interactions with you and wouldn't mind having some of the asset if you do go that direction.
I think it is good to try out new things. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Best wishes and Happy 2026!

Thanks, I've noticed that you've been one of the biggest supporters of #hive-engine projects. Personally, I think HE is the best hope for HIVE.
The blockchain probably would have collapsed without splinterlands, waiv, alive, pizza and the other truly legitimate projects on he.

I do support hive-engine projects and tokens. It is Fun for me to collect tokens. I am aware of the fact that most h-e tokens lose value over time, but it is still Fun to be high on rich lists and to try to find tokens that might actually be profitable. Hive-engine can attract new people to HIVE and I should probably Tweet more about some tokens I like if I want to do what I can to get the word out there to outsiders.
Speaking of Splinterlands, of course that is our best performing hive-engine related project. I got in that in their Kickstarter and I played for years. Now I don't play but I have held most of my cards and I do harvest my land. It got more complicated than I was interested in keeping up with.
I am building a game that is like a mini basic Splinterlands that has a small player base playing regularly almost 2 years since launch. It is related to a hive-engine token. The game can be cloned and branded to promote other hive-engine tokens in the future. In the coming months the game will be basically complete and at that time I'll reach out and see if other project leaders are interested in having a version of the game.

I thought most of the tokens were over valued. I don't start buying until a few months into the program. I like to be in position 40 on the richlist.
