Welcome to the weekly edition of my "Daily Grind" series of blogs. It has been a while since I updated my deck, and now it is facing a very competitive competition in Midnight Shadow and Auric Gold. At the start of this daily grind, I was in Auric Gold using my old school Zoo War deck. But then I noticed that it is getting pawned by new breeds of deck, I got impatient, and I rushed my plays, which got me demoted to Midnight.
While at Midnight Shadow, I got conscious, so I decided to swap Cunning Challenger for Cyrus to keep up with the current meta. I won all my matches on Midnight Shadow without drawing Cyrus, so I can't say if Cyrus has a positive effect on the deck (for now). I was again one win away from being promoted to Auric Gold, and I ended up salvaging a 5-5 win-loss record for the day.
Crucial Strategies
Strategy #1: I played two 2/2 cards in the first turn, which made me put pressure on my opponent.
Strategy #2: I kept the pressure throughout the battle.
Featured Match
In this match, I am up against a dangerous Midrange Light deck. Against any light deck, my deck's win-rate is at 50%. Although sometimes my deck is overpowered by a light deck, I also sometimes overpower them, depending on the drawing of cards. But I always like my chances whenever I get to match up against a light deck.
God Power: Enrage
Mulligan
I'n mulligan, I always see to it that I have one mana or two mana cards to play in the opening turn.
1 Mana
I played two Trial Spirits. My opponent did not play any cards.
2 Mana
I played Valka's Captain, and I went face. My opponent played his god power.
3 Mana
I played Warmonger Smith, and I went face. I buffed one of my Trial Spirits using Engrage. My opponent played Radiant Spirit.
4 Mana
I killed my opponent's 4/4 card using Valka's Captain buffed with Enrage. I went face, and I played Blade of Styx to further chip in on the HP of my opponent's god. I got Dead Sentry from the Sanctum. My opponent played Patience Priestess and Dryder Sailwater, getting the frontline buff from Patience Priestess.
5 Mana
I killed Dryder Sailwater, I went face, and it was GG.
