Tierlist with Explanation
Here's the tierlist, in all it's glory. However, I do feel the need to explain my thoughts behind the tiers and what they mean. Some of these cards are placed in positions based on me thinking "there will be more support for these half archetypes in the future" if that support never comes some of these cards will be A LOT worse than estimated here on this list. I will be explaining each set of "archetypal" cards and their placement and where they will be if support doesn't arrive. Now let's get into it.
S- Tier: Very Strong
These cards are really strong and will be good across multiple archetypes. Very good stats, very strong effects and very strong synergies with existing cards. We will see these cards in play assuredly.
A-Tier: Strong, but not "overpowered"
These cards will be very strong and see some play, but mostly in their specialized synergies and archtypes. These cards will be VERY strong, don't get me wrong. They just won't be plopped into as many things as S-tier, but they will have strong decks built around them.
B-Tier: Good but not great
These cards are good and will see some use, but they aren't "great". A lot of cards will be slotted in instead of these even in their own archtypes (the 1 mana anubian is good, but anubians already has better 1 drops etc.). Good stuff, but not "great stuff"
C-Tier: Mediocre but usable I guess
This tier has memey stuff or "usable but not great" cards that are nowhere close to best in slot. Timmy meme cards and not yet realized archetypal potential. Meme stuff or mediocre.
D-Tier: Kindof bad, not really usable.
These cards seem kindof bad, not really that usable even in memey timmy decks. Bad stats, weird effects etc.
Talking Tidbits: Miniset hinting at new archtypes?
Discard deception if it gets support could push a lot of these cards to A or S depending on the cards printed. "Deck swapping" or other strong discard synergistic effects could push those cards up the list. Additionally any massive 'favor' cards could make the 3 mana light legendary stronger. An auchenai soulpriest equivalent would also make the pilgrim a lot better. Some of these cards are a bit up in the air considering this is a miniset before a full set release. That's about it for my thoughts on it, this set is a bit underwhelming overall. A few potentially strong interactions and some understated strong cards in the 1-2 drop range. The perma-summoned anubian might be pretty strong aswell. Other than that nothing too crazy, and even then most of these cards just feel little limp compared to the ridiculously overpowered Guardians of Elderym set and previous releases. The power level has gotten pretty crazy and is unlikley to get tamped down anytime soon without a format split between "standard" and "wild", but many of you already know this and are aware of this fact. These cards ARE NEAT. However, they not uber strong or going to replace much aside from S-B tier due to previous cards being so damn strong and simplistic to run.
