Much ado about Flux
Flux, we all have it and most of us hardly have to use it. They give it away in the battlepass, for playing sealed, and for winning as different gods during the day. It's a pretty common resource and is abundantly available to the veterans of Gods Unchained. The current use case for it is you can use it to forge cards in game (it doesn't' require very much and leads to massive stocckpiles in player inventories). But what other things could we realistically use our flux on that wouldn't tank the in game economy? I'm open to ideas, post your thoughts I'd love to hear them.

Flux for seasonal aesthetics: Why not?
Trinkets and boards tend to be overprinted and listed to the market for next to nothing. A lot of these aesthetics actually look pretty good, they are just overprinted and purely well... aesthetic. Emotes have been added to the game a few months ago and are a great addition to GU, they are soulbound aswell and can't be traded or sold. So what if similar "soulbound" aesthetics were in a monthly shop where you could spend your flux to get them? This wouldn't add monetary value to flux, but would add at least a sink for it. Things like emotes, trinkets, boards, maybe even profile pictures. If they can't be traded and only one purchased per account this adds a layer of gamification for new and veteran players alike. The prices etc. can be adjusted as neccesary, I just feel like if we are getting oodles of it in the Battlepass we should have a larger use case for it than merely "forging cards" as it does not require much to do that in game task. Aesthetics seem like they could be a hearty sink for the resource and give something to grind for.

Why Flux shouldn't be TOO valuable
We all know botting is a plague in web3, and Gods Unchained is doing their best to curb it. However, numerous events like the "Glinn and Zaskia fiasco" have proven to use thousands of bot accounts exist at various lower ranks and are waiting to be spun up at a moments notice. All these accounts have more flux than you can shake a stick at from playing against each other in casual etc. This is the main reason that whatever is able to be acquired with ONLY flux shouldn't be market tradable (tacking it on to forging etc. is fine as it also requires $GODS to forge and doesn't detract from the in game value in quite the same way).

Talking Tidbits: In our hands, but why?
Gods Unchained is in the hands of the community at this point, as far as formats and various other aspects of the game are concerned. This isn't from "lazy devs" moreso it's from there being a lack of available resources to put into the game (due to IMX mismanaging funds). This can be an opportunity though, a time to implement things together as a community and perhaps see them pushed through. What formats do we want? What design arcs would we like to see? etc. etc. I know things have felt bleak with the recent AI generated set and various other things GU has done and fallen short with, but it's also a chance to change it for the better. Can't always be doom and gloom. Thank you all for reading this post, staring at it intently and nodding while I bullshit about an in game currency nobody cares about. Hell thanks for not outright grimacing in disgust, I'll see you all out there in Eucos. Ranking up down and all arounds. Cheers, and hopefully the future brings us better things.
