Showing The Opening of My First Foundation Packs in Splinterlands

In this post I'll show you the opening of my first Foundation packs in Splinterlands.

In my previous post about the Frontier format in the game:

I mentioned that my focus in this format was to evolve all my Foundation Cards using only my earnings from the Frontier format, but I realized that this would take time, so I decided to speed up the process by opening some Foundation packs.

Before continuing to talk about Splinterlands, I'll talk a little about Arcade Colony.

Arcade Colony

Arcade Colony is a web-based platform where mainstream games can deploy Web3 features. Newly created games, as well as previously released games, can now add tokens, digital collectibles, trading, renting, earning, and governance to their games. Thus, Arcade Colony hosts a series of published games similar to the Epic Games Store, Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Steam, but unlike Web2 publishers, Arcade Colony augments new and existing games with Web3 features.

For more information about the platform, read the Whitepapper.

I'm playing 3 games on Arcade Colony and they are:

There's also the game Genesis League Goals on Arcade Colony but I'm not playing it currently.

Remember that this is not an investment tip, so do your research on these games before investing in them.

Let's continue talking about Foundation Cards in Splinterlands.

My reason for buying Foundation packs is that they are currently very cheap and I want to open packs in the game. Another option was to buy the cards on the market, but I'll choose to buy the packs and open them.

Each Foundation pack costs 175 DEC and this price may fluctuate depending on the DEC value and the price that players sell the pack for.

I'm not going to invest much in Foundation Cards because I still want to evolve my cards with the rewards I receive in the Frontier format, so these packs will only be a small boost to help me reach my goals faster.

I bought 5 Foundation Packs and spent 885 DEC in total, which is equivalent to $0.50 considering the current DEC price.

Whenever I open packs I use Alchemy potions and Legendary potions.

The Alchemy potion increases the chances of getting Gold Foil cards.

The Legendary potion increases the chances of getting Legendary cards.

Let's take a look at which cards I received in these 5 packs.

Using Alchemy potions and Legendary potions was the right decision because I got 2 Gold Foil cards and 1 Legendary card.

I'm happy with this pack opening because most of the cards I received are cards I use frequently in my battles. I also received an epic card that I didn't have yet, so it was a great addition to my collection.

The Gold Foil cards aren't very useful in the Frontier format, so I'm thinking about whether to sell them or keep them in case they become useful in the future.
