Hello Hivians
Feels good to be here.
A question popped into my mind some minutes ago and it goes thus; Is position or office a true criteria in having a good and true leadership?
After pounding for a long time, I came to the conclusion that true leadership isn't about the office nor the position of a person rather it's about inspiring and motivating others to achieve a common goal, having a clear direction and purpose, demonstrating integrity, empathy, as well as self-awareness, taking initiative and making decisions and building trust which fosters strong relationships with others though there is more but I choose to highlight these few
Looking at our society today, we are made to believe that leadership is all about position, title, firm e.t.c, where the rich oppresses the poor, where the opinion of an average earner becomes invalid in our society, hence most of them fail to understand the true meaning of leadership, that it's a call to responsibility and to serve and not to steal, oppress, fight. Mostly in our community, work places e.t.c, we get to see a change of character in some persons once given a position or assume an office, most of them becomes proud, arrogant, rude and self-centered, which ought not to be so, every opportunity in position is a call to responsibility, work and to serve as earlier said.
Having a title or position does not automatically make one a leader, true leadership is earned through mindset actions, vision, empathy, integrity, inspiration, guidance, accountability as well as our ability to serve and influence others positively which can be demonstrated by individuals regardless of their title, position or office.
True leaders can emerge from anywhere, regardless of their position or office. What matters most is our ability to inspire, influence, motivate, guide and empower others.
Understanding this changed my perspective about things and that has helped me this far. And i wish to say that everyone is a leader based on our midset, vision, actions, character and our inspiration.
Thank you for stopping by to read.
