The Sneaker Revolution AI, NFTs, and Digital Fashion

So, Reebok has partnered with Futureverse to come up with this amazing thing referred as ‘Reebok Impact’. It’s basically a tool powered by AI that allows you to submit a photo through Instagram direct messages and then lo-and-behold you will be sent an exclusive digital shoe design based on the picture’s colors and style!

Isn’t that awesome?

Sneakers have always been my passion and now all I got to do is just send the photo. The best part? You can create four pairs for free! Also, game-developers can import the design files into games like Fortnite or Roblox. Talk about taking sneaker customization to another level!

But what really struck me was something these two founders said about this being just the beginning of fashion future. This made me think about how technology has changed our clothing as a medium of communication. For instance, at the end of last month, Adidas partnered up with STEPN wherein they would release Adidas sneaker NFTs on its platform.

And it’s not just Adidas hopping on the digital fashion bandwagon. Nike, one of their biggest rivals, is also raising its game. Their new NFT platform, .SWOOSH, lets users create their own designs and even enter competitions to make their digital shoe designs into real ones. It's a whole new way to engage with sneaker culture.

Now I get that some people may be down about Reebok’s ‘Reebok Impact’ not allowing you to buy physical pairs of sneakers that you create.

Well but then again Reebok did mention something about an incentive for making physical purchases so who knows maybe one day we might find these customized designs on the shelves.

On another note, there was Base’s Onchain Summer event that I heard about and this thing sounds like fun. With a four-week hackathon plus 600 ETH in prizes and grants that will definitely stir up excitement in the crypto world. I’m not much of a coder but this is totally my jam see how blockchain technology can be used for stuff like this!

Oh my goodness, you guys! Can we please talk about Pump.fun?

I heard they made about half a million dollars in just 24 hours! That’s insane! It’s crazy how much money can be made in the world of cryptocurrencies and decentralized finance. It makes me think maybe I should start paying more attention to meme coins…

Lastly, Draup has caught my attention with their new collection that is focused on internet trends. The concept of digital fashion is something that really intrigues me and it will be interesting to see how they will merge themselves with the spirit of internet culture through their designs.

In general, this is an exciting time for someone who is both sneakerhead and techy. They are just pushing fashion further than we thought possible with brands like Reebok, Adidas and Nike alongside events such as Base’s Onchain Summer that disrupt the crypto space; henceforth I am looking forward to whatever else might come ahead. Perhaps one day all of us will be rocking regular custom digital sneakers!
