Billionaires Have More Money Than Nations!

There's no limits to how rich you can get and these guys said "Challenge Accepted".

There are currently about 3,028 billionaires in the world and according to this website source their combined wealth is $16.1 trillion.

How many countries can boldy call this amount of money their GDP? Yeah not very much. As a matter of fact, there's only 2 nations in the world right now that can make this claim, China and the U.S.

What makes this way more interesting is that this calculation and record of the billionaires was done after the stock market plummeted.

Let’s be honest, watching the richest people on Earth lose billions might seem like karma catching up, some billionaires are loved but a lot of them have haters and like they say "haters gonna hate"

People made memes about Elon Musk's stocks dropping and they were happy about it. Elon actually dropped by $156 billion.

He wasn't the only one hit with the stock market crash, Jeff Bezos also dropped by $29 billion.

I didn’t feel anything for them though, not because I'm a hater, no I actually admire them but because I know exactly how rich these guys are. I wasn’t shocked or sympathetic. These numbers look too big to even feel real to me lol but they are anyways.

And just so you know, those losses didn’t even scratch the surface of their wealth. Elon Musk is still sitting on $342 billion and is still the richest man in the world even after what happened to him.

That’s more than what Finland produces in an entire year. I had to pause when I read that. It’s not the fall that bothers me. It’s how far they still are from hitting the ground, not that I want them too, I'm in absolute awe of the immensity of their wealth.

Is this a good or bad thing? Well it depends on which side you're on.

If you were one of the billionaires and you heard someone protesting billionaires have too much money so government should take it from them, would you agree to it? Hell no, I wouldn't.

It's almost like saying, you're a whale on Hive and the whales have too much money so give up your HP, nobody's going to do that.

If you're on the side of the broke and you feel some billionaires are taking advantage of the system with their money and it's causing problems for you in the country that's where, if you're not rational you start burning Tesla cars and having a demonstration yelling depot Elon Musk.

They literally wrote, "Send Elon to Mars" that's how much hate that man has gotten from America now.

If you wouldn't give up your few thousands of dollars just because someone hates the fact that you have it, what makes you think these billionaires will do so.

We've all heard the saying "Money is Power" these billionaires don't just know this saying, they live it, feel it on a daily basis and understand how good that feels. They know money gives them the power to do what they want, and that's the core desire of everyone, to be able to do anything they desire.

So these billionaires keep stacking. How do we prevent the negative effect of people with too much money in a nation?

It's just like asking how do we prevent a few whales from taking full control over Hive?

Simple, make more whales to a point where no single individual or small group has too much power and too much influence. Millionaires are powerful but their influence is less than it used to be years ago and that's because there's so many of them now.

If you hate the billionaires for what they do, become one and let your friends who share the same opinion with you also become one.

I think it's better to channel the hate or dislike into smart work combined with hard work that'll yield good results for you rather than talking about it.

Whether the stocks go up or down, these billionaires set measures to secure themselves, so should you. So they keep winning.

The bigger problem, to my mind, is the mega-conglomerates. If Google was a country, they'd have the 10th biggest economy in the world. Conglomerates are faceless and predatory, and happy to destroy lives in the name of profit.

At least billionaires are human, even the ones in charge of conglomerates. They just need to make sure they don't pull the ladder up after them; there needs to be a route for anyone to aspire to join them. Yes, it takes a lot of luck and effort, but it should be possible.

this is an awesome comment man, you're absolutely right, the issue is when they pull the ladder higher after they're done climbing, it makes it's more difficult.

I see something Amazon does to suppress startups. They make the price of some of the products so cheap the startups can come up with prices like that so Amazon stays the most affordable even though it's making them lose money. They do it to stay on top of the market

Interesting! I didn't even know there are only 3k billionaires on earth. It's just crazy how some people hate or patronize. But just like you said, these rich folks do not mind. They keep building their wealth anyway.

very true, it was over 2000 a couple years back so that means we've had a lot more Billionaires join in. The rich is certainly getting richer it's so clear now

It's just like asking how do we prevent a few whales from taking full control over Hive?

in the case of a decentralized public ledger. A totally skewed distribution should, in theory, make most people sell and walk away. Which is to say. The whale would be burning down the value of his/her own holdings by allocating too many resources, thus projecting a sense of fragileness to the outside world.

oh, damn Meno you should have schooled me on this before I made the comparison. I see it now. Then those with skin in the game are just as careful as those without that much skin yet. Perhaps the Whales are even more careful.

I guess Spiderman's uncle Ben was right before he died, with great power comes great responsibility

Once again the great Meno gave me a cool ass idea for my next article
