I recently picked up some titillating news in the NFT space and it’s got me on a high. Aptos Monkeys is currently running a major NFT event called ‘It’s An Aptos Thing’ and this whole thing is going down like wildfire.

Essentially, Aptos Monkeys created this epic event where people could create their own NFTs within the Aptos chain community. Now, if you are wondering what NFTs are, It is short for non-fungible tokens; NFTs are digital collectibles that can be bought, sold or traded using cryptocurrencies – think of them as unique digital artworks or trading cards that you can keep and boast to friends.
And now we’re back to ‘It’s an Aptos thing’.
Picture a virtual minting factory where anyone can make their very own NFTs – that’s exactly what happening here!
You know what?
The numbers are just mind-boggling! For example, at the time of writing this, it was reported that more than 700000 were already minted via platforms like Wapal and Mercato.

That's a lot of digital novelties floating through space!
The tremendous enthusiasm and participation by the community caught my attention. NFTs suddenly became magical to the entire populace and they joined this historical ceremony in large numbers. Who wouldn’t? I mean, how often does one have an opportunity to be part of a groundbreaking event like this?
Why is this such a big deal.
First off, this is a huge milestone for the Aptos chain community. The people behind it are showing that NFTs can work thus putting Aptos chain as one of the places where every other thing is NFT related on the map. It’s more like “We’re here and we’re for real”!
But it is not just about bragging rights. This event proves how much popularity has risen in regards to NFTs and greater blockchain technology acceptance. It’s some sort of a glimpse at tomorrow where digital assets will become normal things and everybody will be involved in it all at once.
What is even more exciting is the prospect of more future happenings like this. Think of a world where there are as many big NFT minting events as there are music festivals or movie premiers. This is a fantasy come true for people like me who love cryptocurrency; and it’s happening right in front of our eyes!
Now, I know what some of you might be thinking.
Is this just another trend that will fade away like others?
Nope, I don’t think so. It could be that the craze around NFTs dies down with time but the technology underlying it and its concept are here to stay forevermore. After all, who wouldn’t want to possess some digital piece of history or support their favorite artists and creators in new ways that haven’t ever been imagined?
“It’s an Aptos Thing” NFT event is not just a flashy spectacle. Instead, it represents innovation, community mindedness and how blockchain has limitless possibilities within itself. Being someone who has been following the crypto space for some time now, I can’t wait to see where we go next on this path.
