Here we have the first reissue of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys. These reissues are from 1998, ten years after the original toys were first released. I bought these off ebay in 2021 after going on a little bit of an ebay toy collection spree. The packaging is a little different from the originals but the toys themselves are identical in every way.
As a kid I was into the Turtles but not in a big way so I didn't really collect the toys the way other kids did. I really just wanted the four Turtles themselves and that's it. I ended up getting Raphael and Michelangelo for Christmas in 1991.
In 2021 after learning that a new reissue of the toys had been released I thought cool this is my chance to get them brand new in mint condition. I did some research and watched some reviews on youtube about them but was underwhelmed, particularly because some of them had major color changes. From doing some research I discovered that the Turtle toys had be reissued multiple times over the decades and it was generally accepted that the first reissues were of the best quality, plastic and color wise. So after searching through ebay I found these four being sold together unopened in mint condition and that worked out slightly cheaper than buying them singly so I went for it. Now I'm a proud owner of the original Ninja Turtles (reissue).
