Trying to change someone's opinion is difficult. If they function by logic and reason and can accept criticism and differences, it might be successful. But most people do not change easily, nor themselves, nor their opinions. Unfortunately

Even hypnotists will tell you that changing others is the most difficult job ever. People only change when they want to change.
So true! Once you get that, life becomes way easier because you stop wasting energy trying to change others and invest that energy in yourself

If you look at the brain as a physical system, it starts to make sense that people are resistant to change in their way of thinking. A fundamental change in one's way of thinking could be expected to require a lot of neural rewiring.
I agree. It is worth the effort though, because in a practical sense, only this would allow true evolution to happen
