Splinterlands weekly challenge and this week theme is TORTISIAN FIGHTER
Honestly speaking that's one card, which is almost unused even at 1st level alts (not talking about main account where this card simply not leveled up at all)
But that's what I really like about weekly Challenges - it is real Challenge finally try some abandoned cards and even win with them!
Obviously Water splinter is strongest by it's Magic attack and Melee or Ranged attack monsters not so much useful (except most strongest epics). While you still can use those cards with Dragon Summoners! Darya may add +1 Melee attack, either Drake of Arnak +1 Armor. And with some super sneak fight conditions actually Tortisian Fighter maybe pretty good and if fight is lower mana
And (surprise, surprise) have won 1st fight trying to use Tortisian Fighter. So lets go for details now (playing with 1st level alt)
FIGHT. Weak Magic / Heavy Hitters + 24 Mana

While looking on fight conditions first what comes to mind is to try Drake Arnak as summoner which provides additional Armor. In this case it is effective against Magic too. And then, why not try to use Tortisian Fighter as a tank? In other circumstances most probably would prefer Spineback Turtle still
Here is final line-up using Earth Splinter
- TORTISIAN FIGHTER. Average Melee attack. Additional Armor defense, but low speed
- MANTICORE. Decent Speed and very high Life. Low Melee attack, but combined with Flying and Reach abilities. Basically always good as second in a line-up
- FURIOUS CHICKEN. Just to put since free slot. May save some life to other Monster
- BLACK DRAGON. Nice Legendary with decent Magic attack, Flying and Life Leech. Correctly placed can leech quite a lot of Life from opponent's Monsters and win the fight
- RULER OF THE SEAS. Best Legendary at 1st level. Even with Weak Magic condition, Blast ability makes miracles
Opponent came with Water splinter and more heavier Range attack. And two fron monsters well protected by armor, good move. But even higher level card not helped him. Tortisian Fighter got all first wave heavy attack, while real Win was earned by Manticore with all those misses and Life leeches by the Black Dragon

You were brave enough to use Tortisian Fighter as a tank as it doesn't provide that much shield & life.
And I thought you were going to lose the battle.
