Hello Hive friends! Here I am again back with another art blog. I am taking you all with me to another virtual art gallery walk.
If you have not read any of my previous blog, I'm Abby and welcome to my sphere. Art have a special place in my 🩷. I am not a master of it, but I associate myself as one of the artists.
I share my works on my art account which you can surely visit if you are curious what kind of pieces do I share in there.
Today, here comes the set of works I am gonna share to you through this blog. These pieces focuses on landscapes (nature) and it's in the chapter of my journey as an artist exploring and discovering my love for gouache paints. And yeah, you'll surely see tons of greens in this page.
In the first painting, the combination of the different shades of green and the hint of brown screams a lot about the harmony nature have as a whole. The serenity which such subject portrays is one thing I really wanted to capture in this piece.
In this painting as you can see it's something which I gave up on. If you are going to look at the top most part of the painting there's a hint of rush. I am a bit ashamed of how I did it, but it's not entirely bad, I guess? Hahaha. If I were to point out what specific aspect I messed up on while creating this painting, it is probably creating harmony between its shadows and highlights.
For this one, if you watch ghibli films, I bet you already recognize from which scene this painting is from. Yes you are right! It is from that field Howl showed Sophie in the movie. If you can't tell, I am so obsessed with that scene that I had to recreate different versions of that scenery including the other one.
These paintings also features scenes from other Ghibli movies. One of my favorites is this one – a scene from the film My Neighbor Totoro. I even made prints for this painting since I liked it a lot.
This next piece features a different subject - Korean foods! It's a painting of tteokbokki and kimbap.
I remember how much I had fun doing the tteokbokki, playing with the highlights and shadows to make it appear kinda realistic and appealing.
Keeping and browsing over all these collection of artworks I had over the past years feel so great and fulfilling. I love looking back on the things I've created before and whenever I'm in an art slump it helps me overcome it.
I love your artworks (or should I say your masterpiece?). The way you do it is kinda catchy and inspiring.
