Sketch before sculpting

in Sketchbook2 months ago

Hey Hive fam! 🎨

As part of my preparation for sculpture class, I’ve been tasked with sketching different angles of the human torso. These studies allow me to better understand anatomy, form, and shading before diving into the 3D world of sculpting. I used cross-hatching with a ballpoint pen to create depth and texture, focusing on muscle structure and curves.

This exercise has really sharpened my observation skills and improved my control over light and shadow. I’m excited to see how this will translate into clay and other materials in class.

What do you think of these sketches? Any tips or feedback are welcome! 😊
