The Joker is a mystery you could say. Normally he has no origin background story or better this character has multiple background stories. He is telling everyone another. So you never know what is really true.
He is batmans duality if I could say it like that. He is exactly the opposite of him.
Normally everyone knows joker, so I don't have to give more background knowledge.
