The bird here is the Eastern Yellow Robin! It’s pure yellow feathers are a delight to the eyes! I you can find the bird in Australia. A yellow bird was a must for this series, so I’m glad I painted the robin. I imagined a cute bird resting at the tip of one’s nose, with the moon’s light illuminating the yellow feathers of the bird.
PROCESS!
Materials : Reeves Gouache paint, Winsor & Newton Watercolor and brushes, Staedtler pencils
I sketched out the girl and the bird, I wasn’t too sure what to place in the background here, so I left it.
Next, I painted in the background and the first layer of color for the bird
I made quite the mistake in terms of picking the right shade of red/pink that would have gone better with the yellow on the bird. In the next painting I’ll be sure to test the colors out first!
Close ups of the bird!
You’ve gotta admit, it’s one cute bird : )
Thank you for Viewing!

It's a cute combination. I see your whole work is filled with the faces of women as well as birds.
Thank you! Yes, I’m doing a challenge for September, where I just combine birds and my art style together! I realized I enjoyed painting birds, so I intend on improving along that line
