My Charcoal Pencil Drawing Of 👤Burna Boy

in Sketchbook2 years ago (edited)

Burna Boy, a stage name for Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, is a Nigerian singer, composer, and record producer. He was born on July 2, 1991.After releasing "Like to Party," the main single from his debut studio album L.I.F.E (2013), he became famous in 2012. 2017 saw Burna Boy sign with Warner Music Group internationally and Bad Habit/Atlantic Records in the US. Outside (2018), his third studio album, marks his major-label debut (Wikipedia) He is someone I love so much and have really followed up for years now and so I decided to take out time to make this piece with the use of my charcoal pencils and dry brush on paper. Day 1 I began my making an outline sketch of the face using a reference photo.

Above is the reference photo I worked with while below is the completed outline sketch using the reference photo as a guideline with just an Hb Pencil ✏️ on paper.

"IMG_20220801_110644.jpg" I began by creating a base layer with the use of charcoal powder and dry brush so as to create a fair and uniform surface so as to aid easy tone buildup process. Afterwards,I proceed to the deal of the day which is shading out the forms of the each organs and parts of the face. I started my shading out the right eyes with the use of my charcoal pencil and a paint brush to blend evenly so as to have a soft and realistic look.

Afterwards, I proceeded to the left eyes in which I completely after some hours. Yeah!! After some hours. Over the years I got to understand that " it's not all about how fast but how well " in order to achieve a realistic portrait of your choice, patients and consistency is the key and that has brought me this far.

"IMG_20220801_125544.jpg" After much work on the left eyes, I proceed to the forehand, part of the hair and background as well and all this was done with the use of charcoal pencil, charcoal powder and dry soft brush. "IMG_20220801_131329.jpg" So far I believe you're enjoying every bit of this journey of mine because I am 🙂. After that was completed, I took out time to rest for the day because I was exhausted after it all and didn't want to mess things up. Day 2 On my second day on this piece, I was able to finish the nose and also proceed to another very important part which is the nose. When drawing accurately, every part matters no matter how little it maybe as any slightest change could totally change the looks of whatever object or image you're working on. At this point I was able to complete 65% of the drawing after much effort

After completion of the face ,I proceed to the cloths and other parts of the body. This took me about a day and some hours to complete.

After much work on this piece at intervals ,I was able to arrive at a desired finish stage.
