in Sketchbook2 years ago

Jaranan art began to appear since the 10th century Hijri. Precisely in 1041. or at the same time the kingdom of Kahuripan was divided into 2, namely the eastern part of the Jenggala Kingdom with the capital of Kahuripan and the western part of the Panjalu or Kediri kingdom with the capital of Dhahapura.

The history of this Jaranan Dance has several different versions of the story. According to a legend that developed in the community, this dance tells about the marriage of Klono Sewandono with Dewi Songgo Langit. And the horse dancers in this Jaranan Dance describe a group of soldiers accompanying Dewi Songgo Langit and Klono Sewandono from Kediri to the wangker. This Jaranan dance is an ancestral heritage that still exists and develops until now.
