Drawing a portrait with grid lines

in Sketchbook3 years ago

This a drawing I made for my friend as a request, it took me close to 40 hours give or take, I wasn't really timing my self and when I was done I presented to him

The materials I used are

  • greater

  • sharper

  • Cotton board and cotton wool

  • HB pencil

  • 2B pencil

  • 6B pencil

  • 10B pencil

I used my HB pencil to draw the grid line and also to sketch the outline of my drawing.

I then used my 2B pencil to do the lighter shading, while I was shading the grid lines were slowly disappearing until the disappeared totally

I used the 6B pencil to do a more darker shading on the face and hair

I used my 10B pencil todo the darkest shading and I used my cotton wool and cotton board to blend

I always step back to see my drawing from a distance to see if I am okay with it I was very nervous about the drawing because it was my first portrait in about a year. When I was done I present it to him and he liked it
