Art Journal: "The Forest Stream" | Coffee Painting โ˜•๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ

in Sketchbook โ€ข last month (edited)

Greetings Hiver friends, How are you doing? A blissful day to everyone. This is my latest coffee art called "The Forest Stream" I already painted this years ago in a traditional painting using acrylic paint. However, I am glad about the result of the coffee powder used as a medium for this painting. I just put a high contrast in the background to look more vibrant.

A forest stream painting generally depicts a picturesque scene of a stream flowing through the abundant forest. This painting captures the beauty and stillness of nature. Forest stream paintings evoke a sense of serenity, calmness, and a deep connection with the natural wonder of nature.

I used three types of painting brushes for this art. It took me an hour to finish this piece. For those who want to try to paint using this unique medium, you can follow the basic methods below.

Materials Needed:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
๐Ÿ‘‰ Pencil and Eraser
๐Ÿ‘‰ Coffee Powder
๐Ÿ‘‰ 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
๐Ÿ‘‰ Ruler
๐Ÿ‘‰ Clean Water
๐Ÿ‘‰ Rag
๐Ÿ‘‰ Paper napkin or paper towel

Brushes:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
๐Ÿ‘‰ Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
๐Ÿ‘‰ Filbert brush

Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.

Basic Procedure:
โ€ข Outline or sketch your painting reference.
โ€ข Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
โ€ข On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
โ€ข The same procedure with the foreground.
โ€ข Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
โ€ข Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.

Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.

Painting Process:

This is the finished painting of "The Forest Stream" with a coffee painting.

I enjoyed seeing your painting both ways. I did wonder if you painted in other mediums. I love the fall colors in the tree of the previous one.

Thanks a lot @jacey.boldart for your support! God bless!

I simply love this technique!
