Today I want to share with you an image in which I have been working for a commission. It is one of the illustrations in a chapter of a book based on some atrocities committed in the sinister post-war Spain, during Franco's dictatorial regime.
ESP: ¡Hola amigos! Hoy quiero compartir con vosotros una imagen en la que he estado trabajando para un encargo. Se trata de una de las ilustraciones de un capítulo de un libro basado en algunas atrocidades cometidas en la siniestra España de postguerra, durante el régimen dictatorial de Franco.
The book recounts the abuses of some characters who led the Civil War, in that national-Catholic Spain from the 40s, deeply corrupt and cruel. A devilish society, but widely decorated with angels, virgins and saints.
En el libro se relatan los abusos de algunos personajes que lideraron la Guerra Civil, en esa España nacional-católica de los años 40 profundamente corrupta y cruel. Una sociedad diabólica, pero ampliamente decorada de ángeles, vírgenes y santos.
And this is the process of this illustration, that recreates a scene inside a brothel. First I made the sketch based on lines and crosshatching.
Y este es el proceso de esta ilustración, recreando una escena en el interior de un burdel. Primero hice el boceto a base de líneas y tramas.
And then I added an effect of watered ink and some drops around, in addition to including some other details to the scene.
Y luego superpuse un efecto de tinta aguada y algunas gotas alrededor, además de incluir algunos otros detalles a la escena:
