After I made that dash painting of Homer pointing a gun at Mr Burns' head from one of the most popular Simpsons Episodes; 'Who Shot Mr Burns ', I got to notice that I had only focused on drawing or better still painting the Simpsons family with the exception of Grandpa Abe.
Myself being a huge fan after noticing this decided to remedy it by making some of Clancy and Ralph Wiggum, Eddie and Lou (the other police officers) and Patty and Selma. Infact it was during this observation that I noticed for the first time that Matt Groening made Lou's hand almost exactly like Popeye's....lol.... Funny how I missed that after seeing the entire sitcom time and time again, I guess we do learn everyday.
When I started out this painting, the idea behind it was to use as many colors as possible to represent the figure but then halfway through, I noticed that it wasn't speaking the language I wanted and as an artist, I believe my piece should represent what I have in mind even if not exactly but at least close. I ended using some of the primary colours and came up with the background at the last minute.
At first when I started, I had a ton of ideas but they all skipped after hours of reassuring shades. I've learnt however from this painting as well as others I've made after this to always draft something and not rely entirely on memory.....
These are the outlines.....
Its been a pleasure hosting you friends, I really appreciate the privilege of sharing your time.
