Again, a difficult topic. It’s basically simple because it’s just a handle, but the object itself is extremely intricate to work out. This is a real masterpiece, which is only enhanced by the fact that some parts have a nice light blue patina.
In the past, door handles were always made of copper, and there were not only aesthetic but also practical reasons for this. This is because the pathogens are destroyed very quickly on the copper surface. For the same reason, wealthy families used to use copper pots for cooking and ate with silver cutlery.
The baroque decoration was just an extra work for me. I also had to pick up the alcoholic felt-tip pen so I could at least sketch the many embellishments. Afterwards, I was able to paint a little more on the surface.
