Estas fotos, que son bastantes, les mostrarán el paso a paso de este proceso en el cual he iniciado un autorretrato al óleo. He utilizado un trozo de cartulina especial para pintar al óleo y una paleta reducida; es decir, he trabajado con una variedad mínima de colores: amarillo ocre, bermellón, negro y blanco. Por qué, se preguntarán ustedes, pues lo he hecho como ejercicio de consciencia sobre el color, como ustedes saben soy daltónico, así que tengo que trabajar con mucho cuidado los colores, y me pierdo de muchos, ni noto su existencia, pero los de esta paleta casi puedo reconocerlos todos, o más bien tengo la impresión subjetiva de que los veo, entran en un orden y una lógica que me ayuda a aprender sobre valor, tono, color y sombra. Es la famosa paleta de Apelles, se puede hacer mucho con ella. Pero como soy un aprendiz, apenas la estoy empezando a conocer.

These photos, which are quite a few, will show you the step by step of this process in which I have started a self-portrait in oil. I have used a piece of special cardboard for oil painting and a reduced palette; that is to say, I have worked with a minimum variety of colors: yellow ochre, vermilion, black and white. Why, you may ask, because I have done it as an exercise in color awareness, as you know I am color blind, so I have to work very carefully with the colors, and I miss many, nor notice their existence, but those of this palette I can almost recognize them all, or rather I have the subjective impression that I see them, they enter in an order and logic that helps me to learn about value, tone, color and shade. It is the famous Apelles palette, you can do a lot with it. But since I am an apprentice, I am just getting to know it.

Nice try as a beginning. The face in the final step should've been more clear, it looks like a little blurry. You could work on the lips to make it better. @tipu curate 3
