Hello hivers and welcome to my blog. Continuing with my challenge of drawing without a preconceived idea and using only lines and stripes while listening to music on my headphones, I bring you a new creation.
Cada vez que voy a dibujar usando esta técnica, se me ocurren ideas fijas, pero cuando me pongo los audífonos y empiezo a escuchar la música me salen cosas totalmente diferentes jajaja, bueno, esa es la idea, no saber que cosas irán surgiendo de la música que haya elegido.
Every time I start to draw using this technique, I come up with fixed ideas, but when I put on the headphones and start listening to the music, totally different things come out to me hahaha, well, that's the idea, not knowing what things will emerge from the music you have chosen.
Para este dibujo utilicé lápiz, marcadores, lápices de colores y metalizados una regla y un aro para hacer los círculos. Y la música que escuché mientras dibujaba fue el disco homónimo de la banda británica Black Sabbath. Empecé con un círculo.
For this drawing I used pencil, markers, colored and metallic pencils, a ruler and a ring to make the circles. And the music I listened to while drawing was the self-titled album by the British band Black Sabbath. I started with a circle.
Las guitarras crudas y distorsionadas y el sonido psicodélico de este disco fueron llenando mi mente de círculos y semicírculos y el centro se transformó en un gran ojo.
The raw, distorted guitars and the psychedelic sound of this album filled my mind with circles and semicircles and the center transformed into a big eye.
Llegó el momento de ponerle color a este dibujo, los primeros colores que vinieron a mi mente fueron el negro y el morado y la intensidad de la música la convertí en tonos cálidos como el amarillo, el anaranjado y el rojo. Estos tres colores son muy frecuentes en mis dibujos, no se si es porque me gusta el verano y el clima cálido 🏖️🌞😎 jajaja o si es por algún otro motivo psicológico 🤔.
Time to add color to this drawing, the first colors that came to my mind were black and purple and I turned the intensity of the music into warm tones like yellow, orange and red. These three colors are very frequent in my drawings, I don't know if it's because I like summer and warm weather 🏖️🌞😎 hahaha or if it's for some other psychological reason 🤔.
Los colores de las esferas surgieron de manera instantánea y a mi mente regresó el morado, el rojo, el amarillo y el anaranjado como colores predominantes.
The colors of the spheres emerged instantly and purple, red, yellow and orange returned to my mind as predominant colors.
Al estar escuchando rock este ojo biónico no podía ser más que de metal jajaja así que usé uno de mis lápices de colores metalizados y lo hice plateado. Su mirada está impregnada de maldad así que le agregué unos detalles para intensificarla.
Since I was listening to rock, this bionic eye couldn't be anything other than metal hahaha so I used one of my metallic colored pencils and made it silver. Its gaze is impregnated with evil so I added some details to intensify it.
Y este es el resultado final, un dibujo que diría que es entre surrealista y psicodélico jajaja.
And this is the final result, a drawing that I would say is somewhere between surreal and psychedelic hahaha.
Analizando este dibujo diría que representa el mal de ojo, mi familia es de origen griego y al igual que en algunos otros países, los griegos creemos mucho en eso. Según me contaba mi abuela, la mayoría de las veces la persona que provoca o lanza el mal de ojo, no lo hace de manera intencional sino que su mirada es muy pesada y sin querer o sin darse cuenta le puede echar mal de ojo a alguien, por lo general, ocurre cuando esta persona ve a un bebé, a un niño o un adulto que le llama la atención por su belleza. Así mismo, no todos poseen ese ojo maligno ni tampoco todos son propensos a recibir ese mal de ojo, las más vulnerables son las personas de alma pura.
Analyzing this drawing I would say that it represents the evil eye, my family is of Greek origin and like in some other countries, Greeks believe a lot in that. According to what my grandmother used to told me, most of the time the person who causes or sends the evil eye doesn't do so intentionally but rather their gaze is very heavy and without wanting to or realizing it they can give someone the evil eye, generally occurs when this person sees a baby, a child or an adult who catches her/his attention due to their beauty. Likewise, not everyone has that evil eye nor are everyone prone to receiving that evil eye, the most vulnerable are people with pure souls.
Creo que el concepto psicodélico y a la vez oscuro del disco de Black Sabbath me hizo sacar esta creencia o tipo de hechizo que está en mi conciente y mi subconsciente desde que era pequeña. En el caso de este dibujo, el efecto que el mal de ojo le causa a la persona que lo recibe está asociado a las líneas paralelas que transmiten distorsión y mareo y al fuego de la mirada que genera el malestar físico, pero, las esferas de colores representan la victoria de las almas puras sobre esa energía negativa del ojo maligno.
I think that the psychedelic and at the same time dark concept of the Black Sabbath album made me bring out this belief or type of spell that has been in my conscious and my subconscious since I was a little girl. In the case of this drawing, the effect that the evil eye has on the person who receives it is associated with the parallel lines that transmit distortion and dizziness and the fire of the gaze that generates physical discomfort, but the spheres of colors represent the victory of pure souls over that negative energy of the evil eye.
Bueno amigos, tengo que decir que estoy realmente sorprendida del análisis que yo misma he hecho de este dibujo 😳 jajaja, sobretodo porque mientras lo iba haciendo no entendía nada 🤷🏻♀️. Well friends, I have to say that I am really surprised by the analysis that I myself have done of this drawing 😳 hahaha, especially because while I was doing it I didn't understand anything 🤷🏻♀️.
