One of the reasons I got my leather folio is to have all my journals and planners in one place so I am more motivated to use them instead of looking for them everywhere. I got 2 thick planners inside the folio so ideally the rest should be really thin kraft notebooks so the folio isn't as bulky. I got A5 sketchbooks but they won't fit in the folio since they are quite thick.
I found this notebook in a store that isn't dotted or ruled so I decided to make it my sketchbook inside the folio. It's very thin so it's perfect for it.

The purpose for this sketchbook is to sketch everyday AND to do very quick gesture drawings. As I said in my previous post, I have been perfectionist with my sketchbooks and that doesn't allow me to sketch and have fun anymore. This will break that because having an "ugly" sketchbook will allow me to sketches without breaking the momentum or habit of drawing.

This notebook is so thin (80 gsm) that the lines will bleed through the next page so I'm just using pencils for this. In this spread, I was just drawing anything that catches my eyes on Pinterest. The lips are shading practice using different shades of pencils and the others are just drawings focused on the shapes and gestures. I also didn't use eraser for this for the purpose of limiting myself and forcing myself to commit to the lines.

As I'm doing this consistently, I become more confident in my lines and I don't even draw intial shapes anymore. I just draw directly and my eyes and hands coordinate better lol.

I really like this method of sketching because you finish quick and move on to another one. I can see this sketchbook being filled fast. :D
Ohhh, and with different poses too that I think is really hard to sketch. Do you have a way on how you will start one sketch? As someone who has no skills when it comes to art, I often wonder if there's actually a proper way or style on how you will start your drawing. Coz just imagining it gave me a headache. Like, should I start with the head? Some would usually start in the head right? Or maybe the body? Something like that. And how about if it has that complicated pose or body structure? How will you connect it with the head? Haha. Too many question, lololol. And you are really so good at this already ♪ \(^ω^\ )
I usually start with the head and just estimate with my mind where the body goes on the page. I didn’t jump from nothing to this cos that would be way too hard haha. But I did do the “proper” way of drawing basic shapes first like circle for the skull and maybe oval for the torso etc for years. If you’ve been doing it for quite a long time you will eventually become more confident with your lines and just start looking and estimating the spaces between the head and shoulders and what’s beside them.
If the pose is more complicated then it’s more challenging too but yeah you will gain that intuition once you’ve done it many times. :D
Hivers when they get a downvote
Thats an insult to the toddler
