Illustration #19. Cloudy Skies ☁️

Hello

A long time ago, I used to write in this community to post my drawings and my process. I neglected it, and well, I won’t give many reasons, but what I do want to make clear is that I’d like to come back. On this occasion, I would like to post about this drawing I made yesterday.

About the Drawing

Sometimes I find myself feeling uncertain, and my intention with this drawing is precisely to express that. I’ve never been one to talk about my feelings with much equanimity, which is why I tend to be more subtle when expressing myself, although I confess that I still think and hope I can do much better next time, which I hope will be continuous and better than before.

And well, the girl is uncomfortable and a bit anxious. Maybe someone is saying something uncomfortable to her face, or maybe something uncomfortable is happening. Maybe he’s listening to music to distract himself. Maybe he’s not even listening to music.

Ambiguity is always interesting.

🖼 Inspirations

Well, moving on, I’ll make it clear that my visual inspirations for creating this drawing are these images I found on Pinterest. This kind of artwork has always caught my attention. In the near future, I’ll try to do more drawings in this style. That’s for sure.

📝 Process

Step 1: The sketch

Step 2: Base colors

This kind of sky with a blue hue... I feel like it adds a touch of mystery. It’s such a beautiful sky, but at the same time so unnatural (or at least it seems that way to me). When I look at the sky, it never looks like this, or at least I never see it this way. And it’s a sky that I hope to recreate much better in the future.

Step 3: Some adjustments and a bit of volume

Step 4: Some final adjustments. More volume

Closing Thoughts

That’s all, folks. Next time, I hope to keep improving and bring you increasingly interesting pieces.
