Hello everyone, today I want to share with you a digital illustration I made of a male portrait that I finished an hour ago. This time, I wanted to do something different from what I'm used to, playing with skin tone to continue practicing portraits. What I liked most about this illustration was the expression on the character's face and his hair.

To start this piece, I used a visual reference I found on Pinterest. This image was the main inspiration for bringing the idea I had in mind to life. Below, I'll share some images that show the progress of the illustration.

Hola a todos, el dia de hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una ilustración digital que hice de un retrato masculino que logre terminar hace una hora, en esta oportunidad quise hacer algo distinto a lo que estoy acostubrado jugando con el tono de piel para seguir practicando en los retratos. Lo que más me gusto de esta ilustracion fue la expresion del rostro mas el cabello del personaje.

Para iniciar en esta obra, me basé en una referencia visual que encontré en Pinterest. Esta imagen fue lo principal para comenzar el materializar la idea que tenía en mente. A continuación, les comparto algunas imágenes que muestran el progreso de la ilustración.

Process

As with all drawings, I began by creating a sketch, in which I defined the proportions and established the basic structure of the character using certain guide lines. I then moved on to the coloring stage, carefully choosing a palette. With the tones selected, I began to apply shadows to give depth and volume to the portrait.

Como todo dibujo inicie elaborando por el boceto, en el que definí las proporciones y establecí la estructura base del personaje mediante ciertos trazos guias. Para despues seguir con la etapa del coloreado, eligiendo cuidadosamente una paleta. Con los tonos seleccionados, empecé a aplicar las sombras para dar profundidad y volumen al retrato.
