John Winston Lennon nació en Liverpool el 9 de octubre de 1940, mientras los aviones nazis bombardeaban la ciudad. Su padre, llamado Alfred, era un marino que visitaba poco el hogar, hasta que desapareció por completo. Luego fue su madre, Julia Stanley, la que desapareció, dejando el niño al cuidado de una hermana suya llamada Mary. Fue ella quien enseñó a John los primeros acordes en un viejo banjo del abuelo de éste. John creció escuchando discos de Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Ray Charles y Buddy Holly, ilustres representantes de las corrientes musicales de aquella época. Durante unos años estudió en la escuela de Bellas Artes y al cumplir los quince resolvió sus dudas entre la pintura y la música a favor de ésta última. Al final de su vida se había convertido en un ser mas espiritual, que buscaba el bien de las demás personas en torno a conseguir la paz mundial. Después de su asesinato en 1980 en Estados Unidos, finalizo su legado en la tierra y a la vez fue el comienzo de su leyenda. John Lennon fue enaltecido al Salón de la Fama y ha sido nombrado en diversas ocasiones como uno de los mejores cantantes, dejando en claro que su carrera fue tan grande que le bastó para posicionarse entre lo más destacado del Rock en toda la historia.

John Winston Lennon was born in Liverpool on October 9, 1940, while Nazi planes were bombing the city. His father, named Alfred, was a sailor who visited the home infrequently, until he disappeared completely. Then it was his mother, Julia Stanley, who disappeared, leaving the child in the care of a sister named Mary. It was she who taught John his first chords on John's grandfather's old banjo.
John grew up listening to records by Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Ray Charles and Buddy Holly, illustrious representatives of the musical trends of the time. For a few years he studied at the School of Fine Arts and when he turned fifteen he resolved his doubts between painting and music in favor of the latter.
At the end of his life he had become a more spiritual being, who sought the good of other people in order to achieve world peace. After his assassination in 1980 in the United States, his legacy on earth ended and at the same time was the beginning of his legend.
John Lennon was inducted into the Hall of Fame and has been named on several occasions as one of the best singers, making it clear that his career was so great that it was enough to position him among the most outstanding Rock singers in history.
