YEAR-END PORTRAIT: COUPLE ON A4 for the 2nd time around!

in Sketchbook4 years ago

Hi Dearest Hiveans! It's been days passed since I posted my last content here, just busy for anything and something important things like what I am gonna share to you this time.

One of the reasons why these past few days I didn't able to create contents is thisssss

Is it look good? I've been busy for doing this for almost more than 2 weeks. My Highschool classmate ask me to draw their photo with her special someone, this will be his gift to his girlfriend.

This is my last portrait commission last year 2021(unfortunately it's not yet been pick up, and also not yet paid, but I believe that his not that too scammer and not to claim this 😅🤣🤣) this is also my second time to do couple portrait commission, and I think this is better than my first one.

Done this portrait with the technique I usually do: I used grid in half inches, and I tried to make it darker by using mix medium charcoal and graphite.

After applying charcoal powder using round brush for the first coat skintone I used 8b staedtler black to render the dark parts to make it darker which is not easy for me achieve when using charcoal alone. And that's the reason why I really need more more and more practice.

And here's some of my progress shots in doing this portrait and as proof of ownership as well.

I started from right to left, so I started first on the girl's eyes, followed by nose, lips and the dark parts of the face

Done with the girl. Time to proceed to the guy's face, but this time I did not started with the face. I started on the shirt coz my brushes is already full of Charcoal so I decided to finish first the darkest part of it before cleaning my brushes... Here's the process

And next will be the sealing.

I used clear spray paint to seal the portrait, this is to preserve the portrait for it will not easily to fade and damage and it's for dirt protection also.

And that's it for this content. Thank you very much for visiting and viewing my post. Hope you like it. I'll be posting again soon, See'yah again on my next one. 😊

Thank you very much! Salamat!
