Alpans are painted in clay houses with their own colors and the main raw material for drawing Alpana comes from the soil.

At one time chalk, clay, paint and turpentine oil were used to draw these alpana. But the durability of those alpana was less, so now alpana is made by soaking the mixture made of girimati, dried plum powder glue, old mango pulp powder, chalk powder, different colors, manakchu and banana tree husk for 4 to 5 days. And this Alpana has lasted for more than a year.

The locals believe that these alpana bring holiness to the house and keep all the members of the family happy. However, the villagers have no idea how such a tradition was born in Tikil village. Yet he continues to preserve the heritage of his ancestors in various festivals, festivities and joyous occasions.
How to go
The distance from the capital Dhaka to Chapainawabganj by road is 316 km and from Chapainawabganj Sadar to Alpana village is 24 km. Chapainawabganj can be reached directly by road only from Dhaka. If you want to go by train or air, you have to go to Chapainawabganj via Rajshahi. From Kalyanpur and Gabtali bus terminals in Dhaka, several buses including Hanif Enterprise, Modern Enterprise, National Travels run regularly to Chapainawabganj.
There is an arrangement to go to Nachol Upazila by train from Chapainawabganj district headquarters. Alpana village can also be reached by renting buses, taxis and CNG from Chapainawabganj.
