Good morning dear readers, I hope you are well, today I present my participation in the challenge Source proposed by @equipodelta, in which she invites us to draw a faun created by herself, but in our own style, taking the freedom to change some details for our drawing, but still be able to recognize that it is the same faun and preserving the original colors.
My faun is called August, I tried to stick to the original circus theme of @equipodelta's friend, but making my faun a little more in the anime style which is the one I use mostly for my drawings, with a little bigger size and with muscle details in the style of the anime itself, here in this post I want to show you a little bit the process of how I made all this drawing so you can appreciate it much better:
Muy buen día queridos lectores, espero estén muy bien, el día de hoy les presento mi participación para el reto Fuente propuesto por @equipodelta, en el cual nos invita a dibujar un fauno creado por ella misma, pero a nuestro estilo propio, tomándonos la libertad de cambiar algún que otro detalle para nuestro dibujo, pero que aun así se pueda reconocer que se trata del mismo fauno y preservando los colores originales.
Mi fauno se llama August, trate de apegarme mucho a la temática circense original de la amiga de @equipodelta, pero realizando mi fauno un poco más al estilo anime que es el que mayormente empleo para mis dibujos, con un tamaño un poco mayor y con detalles de musculatura al propio estilo del anime, aquí en esto post quiero enseñarles un poco el proceso de cómo hice todo este dibujo para que puedan apreciarlo mucho mejor:
PROCESS / PROCESO
The first thing I always do when I draw is to make my sketch, be it some lines and circles, this helps me have a better idea of what I will do later, then with the main idea created there if I proceed to delineate everything in a new layer so that when I paint I can do everything in the best way possible.
Lo primero que siempre hago a la hora de dibujar es realizar mi boceto, ya sean algunas líneas y círculos, esto me ayuda a tener una mejor idea de que es lo que hare más adelante, luego con la idea principal creada allí si procedo a delinear todo en una nueva capa para que a la hora de pintar pueda hacerlo todo de la mejor manera posible.
I applied the colors one by one to have a better order to everything, first I applied a skin color base to the whole character to which later I gave a little volume with a variation of shades of the same base color, I also did this with the faun's horns and I added relief details to them so they looked a little better detailed, then I continued with the eyes and for this I used a shade of blue very similar to the original drawing but trying to make my drawing look with that personal touch.
Fui aplicando los colores uno a unos para tener un mejor orden a todo, primero aplique una base de color piel a todo el personaje a la que más adelante le fui dando un poco de volumen con variación de tonalidades del mismo color base, hice esto también con los cuernos del fauno y le agregue detalles de relieve a los mismo para que se vieran un poco mejor detallados, luego seguí con los ojos y para esto utilice un tono de azul muy parecido al del dibujo original pero tratando de que mi dibujo se viera con ese toque personal.
Now if we get to the part where I delayed the most, and it was in August's coat, I didn't know how I was going to start painting the coat because although I already have experience painting hair, it's not the same to paint a small sector to paint the whole lower torso of the character, but well I decided to guide myself by my experience and apply a first base color, and over it in a new layer I went little by little adding small lines of shadows and fur lines.
Ahora si llegamos a la parte donde más me demore, y fue en la del pelaje de August, no sabía cómo iba a iniciar a pintar el pelaje pues aunque ya tengo experiencia pintando cabello, no es lo mismo pintar un pequeño sector a pintar toda la zona baja del torso del personaje, pero bueno decidí guiarme por mi experiencia y aplique una primera base de color, y sobre ella en una nueva capa fui poco a poco añadiendo pequeñas líneas de sombras y líneas de pelaje.
I painted the colored ball under August, so that you could see the faun sitting on it but still notice that the ball was there. I did this because I thought it looked a little funny but at the same time very good with the original theme.
La pelota de colores la pinte debajo de August, de modo que se viera al fauno sentado sobre ella pero que aun así se notara que la pelota estaba allí, esto lo hice así pues me parecía que se veía un poco chistoso pero a la vez muy bien con la temática original.
The circus tent I tried to paint it in the right proportion so that it would look perfectly matched with August's drawing in the front, so that you can see the smiling faun on the ball welcoming all the assistants to the show, and as final details I decided to add some more little shadows and glitter to complement everything a little better.
La tienda del circo trate de pintarla en la proporción adecuada para que se viera acoplada perfectamente atrás con el dibujo de August al frente, de modo que se vea al fauno sonriente sobre la pelota dándoles la bienvenida a todos los asistentes a la función, ya como detalles finales decidí añadir algunas pequeñas sombras y brillos mas para complementar todo un poco mejor.
