Hi!, how are you hivers? Welcome to a new post. This time I present you my entry to the #ChiFiBot contest. I have to say that Cartoons drive me crazy, and I admire every artist who is dedicated to them, but I was delighted with the result of this one :3 . I will share with you the process, I hope you enjoy it.

¡Hola!, ¿qué tal hivers? Bienvenidos a un nuevo post. Esta vez les presento mi participación en el concurso #ChiFiBot. He de decir que los Cartoons me vuelven loca, y admiro a todo artista que se dedique a ellos, pero el resultado de este me ha encantado :3 . Voy a compartir con ustedes el proceso, espero que lo disfruten.

PROCESO - PROCESS

The contest has some very simple rules, which are:

1. Must be a robot in a similar style to ChiFiBots
2. Design to be related to the Hive blockchain or a Bee / Wasp / Hornet (or both)
3. PNG/SVG with background removed
4. Black outline

El concurso tiene unas reglas muy sencillas, que son:

1. Debe ser un robot de estilo similar a ChiFiBots
2. El diseño debe estar relacionado con la cadena de bloques Hive o con una Abeja / Avispa / Avispón (o ambos)
3. PNG/SVG sin fondo
4. Contorno negro

For the realization of the sketch I was inspired by a character I saw on Pinterest, I liked the idea of making a queen bee, so that's what I based it on.

Para la realización del boceto me inspiré en un personaje que vi en Pinterest, me gustó la idea de hacer una abeja reina, así que en eso me basé.

Line Art

Then I went to the line art, it took me a long time to do this part, I wanted it to look very good, for this I used the figure tool and vector layers, in Clip Studio Paint I love to use these layers when making outline because for me to modify them is much easier than in Adobe Illustrator.

Luego pasé al line art, me tomó mucho tiempo hacer esta parte, quería que se viera muy bien, para ello utilicé la herramienta de figuras y capas vectoriales, en Clip Studio Paint me encanta utilizar estas capas al hacer el contorno porque para mí modificarlas es mucho más fácil que en Adobe Illustrator.

I placed the base colors, made the shadows and placed the illumination areas, for this I used the same base color of each element with the difference that I changed the layer fusion to "multiply" and "color overexposure".

Coloqué los colores base, hice las sombras y coloqué las zonas de iluminación, para ello utilicé el mismo color base de cada elemento con la diferencia de que cambié la fusión de capas a "multiplicar" y "sobreexposición de color".

Impresionante el resultado final y por todo lo que explicas en el proceso de creación se nota que dominas todo lo relacionado al arte digital.

Muchas gracias. En eso trabajo. En dominarlo. Los Cartoons para mi son mas difíciles que otro tipo de ilustración 🤪 tengo el tema de que deben quedar a la perfección. En cambio las otras siento que me puedo expresar mas artísticamente.

Si me pasa igual, al tener que hacer una ilustración a partir de una referencia buscamos ser perfeccionistas y que el resultado sea una copia exacta al original a diferencia de algo de nuestra inspiración que permite mas libertad. Imagínate que si dices que para ti es difícil que te diré yo que solo me dejo llevar sin tener conocimientos de técnicas artísticas 😂.
