I'm sharing a video of a part of this portrait that I really enjoyed while painting with you. For those who paint or draw (it doesn’t matter what the subject is, #portrait , still life, etc.), I want to share an important tip: as an art teacher who has been active in #painting and visual arts for years, I tell you this: before you start creating with any tool you pick up, think about what that tool can do. For example, if you pick up charcoal, think about how it’s different from a pencil and what its characteristics are. Charcoal, for instance, can create valuable textures, it’s broad, and it offers lots of contrast in light and dark... Whatever tool you hold, think about its features before starting and use those features in your #drawing or painting. You’ll see that your work will be amazing. For instance, if you pick up an eraser, don’t just think that an eraser is only for correcting mistakes... no, it’s definitely not that. An eraser can give you attractive and artistic white strokes, unlike a pencil.
Use white erasers and experience the magic of visual arts. You should learn to approach all influential tools in the same way... thinking and reflecting bring valuable outcomes that both you and others will enjoy.
One of my friends asked me which brand of charcoal I use. I replied to him that it doesn't really matter which brand you use; maybe it has a slight effect on the quality, but the most important thing is that you can make the best use of any tool you have. Knowing your art materials directly affects the outcome of your work.
