Greetings everyone I hope you are super well, today I come to present a post about digital illustration, this time I decided to make a self-portrait but not in a realistic way, but rather simplified, but still striking and very interesting, I'm talking about the technique Wedha Pop Art Portrait, which means, Pop Art portrait but in the Wedha style, this name is given thanks to its creator Wedha Abdul Rashid, a renowned artist and illustrator from Indonesia, this wonderful and creative way of making art is characterized by the use of simple lines with color planes that are inspired by cubism and the use of many flat and strong colors.
Respecting the parameters of this technique but at the same time giving it a personal touch, I made a self-portrait but using the colors and stars of the Venezuelan flag, with this what I want to convey is that I am proud to be Venezuelan, that is, I feel identified with my country, its people, its customs, its history and its territory, despite the adversities that we may be living.
To make this illustration I first looked for a photograph of my face, I opened it in Illustrator CC software and with the pen tool, I defined the most important details of the face, that is, the eyes, nose, mouth and eyebrows to keep the resemblance, then I made several irregular linear polygons of different sizes for the rest of the photo, once finished all the tracing, the next step was to paint it with flat colors, without degradations.

Saludos a todos espero que estén súper bien, el día de hoy vengo a presentarle un post sobre ilustración digital, en esta oportunidad decidí hacer un autorretrato pero no de una manera realista, sino más bien simplificada, pero que de igual forma no deja de ser llamativa y muy interesante, les estoy hablando de la técnica Wedha Pop Art Portrait, que significa, retrato de Arte Pop pero al estilo Wedha, este nombre se le da gracias a su creador Wedha Abdul Rashid, un reconocido artista e ilustrador de Indonesia, esta maravillosa y creativa manera de hacer arte tiene como característica el uso de líneas simples con planos de color que son inspirados del cubismo y el empleo de muchos colores planos y fuertes.
Respetando los parámetros de esta técnica pero al mismo tiempo dándole un toque personal, hice un autorretrato pero utilizando los colores y las estrellas de la Bandera de Venezuela, con esto lo que quiero transmitir, es que estoy orgulloso de ser venezolano, es decir, me siento identificado con mi país, su gente, sus costumbres, su historia y su territorio, a pesar de las adversidades que podamos estar viviendo.
Para realizar esta ilustración primero busqué una fotografía de mi rostro, la abrí en el software Illustrator CC y con la herramienta pluma, fui definiendo los detalles más importantes del rostro, es decir, los ojos, nariz, boca y cejas para conservar el parecido, luego hice varios polígonos lineales irregulares de diferentes tamaños por el resto de la foto, una vez terminado todo el trazado, el siguiente paso fue pintarlo con colores planos, sin degradaciones.
