I love Studio Ghibli movies, but howl's moving castle is one of my favorites, because of its love story.

I love the illustrations in this movie because visually there are many objects and colors all over the screen, while my drawing style is simpler and lacks imagination.

I decided to draw a scene in which Sophie walks by candlelight through the castle in search of howl.
This scene was not so easy to interpret in my drawing style, although there are not many objects, if there are details that maybe I did not achieve as expected.

I thought it would be a good practice to make this drawing, because making the effect of artificial lights is not my strength.
This artificial light should not only illuminate Sophie but also some objects in the room, I think I should make darker colors to better achieve that effect, I will continue practicing to achieve that purpose.

My drawing Process

At first these lines look silly and aimless, but they really help to position the elements on the sheet.

Then I can make a sketch with clearer lines

Using watercolors I marked the places where the shadow would go

As in my opinion, there were many objects, I began to detail the entire background from left to right

and then the character

Until a good result is achieved
