¡Un gran sábado a todos! Espero que estén bien. El día de hoy he venido con un dibujo poco usual que tiene una fuerte referencia: El Arte Aborigen Latinoamericano.
Para ser precisos, lo que acabo de mencionar es una materia universitaria de Artes Plásticas, no obstante, mi dibujo engloba toda una reflexión de lo que más me gustó de esta. Nunca me había puesto a pensar tanto de mis orígenes, hasta que la conocí, pues me di cuenta de lo poco que valoraba mis raíces y la cultura que hace menos de 400 años fue parte de mi entorno.
Pensaba que los mayas, los incas, los aztecas y todas esas tribus eran muy primitivas con sus creencias, ritos y sacrificios, sobre todo esto último porque hay que aceptar que eran muy sanguinarios.
No obstante, no eran tan primitivos, eran una cultura distinta en una época distinta. Tenían sus propios conocimientos, cosmología, formas de ver al mundo, y sobretodo, creaban muchísimas obras de arte. Qué impresión ver las pirámides y templos Aztecas y mayas, junto a las cabezas colosales, esculturas y calendarios, en un mundo donde no existía una maquinaria adecuada para su creación.
Por eso, en el siguiente dibujo, quise realizar una imagen estilo aborigen; bajo mi propia creatividad, inspiración y reflexión, mostrando símbolos que son indispensables en la cultura latina y tal vez no lo sabías.
A great Saturday to all! I hope you are well. Today I have come with an unusual drawing that has a strong reference: Latin American Aboriginal Art.
To be precise, what I just mentioned is a university subject of Fine Arts, however, my drawing encompasses a whole reflection of what I liked most about it. I had never thought so much about my origins, until I met her, because I realized how little I valued my roots and the culture that less than 400 years ago was part of my environment.
I thought that the Mayas, the Incas, the Aztecs and all those tribes were very primitive with their beliefs, rites and sacrifices, especially the latter, because it must be accepted that they were very bloodthirsty.
However, they were not so primitive, they were a different culture in a different time. They had their own knowledge, cosmology, ways of seeing the world, and above all, they created many works of art. What an impression to see the Aztec and Mayan pyramids and temples, together with the colossal heads, sculptures and calendars, in a world where there was no adequate machinery for their creation.
That's why, in the following drawing, I wanted to make an aboriginal style image; under my own creativity, inspiration and reflection, showing symbols that are indispensable in the Latin culture and maybe you didn't know it.
En primer lugar dibujé a un Jaguar, uno de los símbolos de mi cultura, basándome en varias ilustraciones de jaguares.
First I drew a Jaguar, one of the symbols of my culture, based on several illustrations of jaguars.
Luego, fui agregando muchas más figuras como el templo del Gran Jaguar o Templo I, un ave quetzal en representación del dios Quetzalcóatl, bastante importante para muchas tribus, sobre todo para los mexicas y un nativo aborigen perteneciente a la cultura de los hombres jaguar (nótese más adelante en las semejanzas con este felino).
Al dibujar quise simplemente bocetar todo muy tenue para después colorearlo, por eso no se puede apreciar todo muy bien en la imagen. Cabe resaltar que empecé a pintar los troncos sin tomar foto del boceto solo jajaja, sorry.
Then, I added many more figures such as the temple of the Great Jaguar or Temple I, a quetzal bird representing the god Quetzalcoatl, quite important for many tribes, especially for the Mexica and an aboriginal native belonging to the culture of the jaguar men (note below the similarities with this feline).
When drawing I simply wanted to sketch everything very faintly and then color it, that's why you can't see everything very well in the image. It should be noted that I started painting the trunks without taking a picture of the sketch alone hahaha, sorry.
Empecé a pintar primero los troncos para crear una base, luego las ramas y por último las hojas, de tonos claros a oscuros, tomándome también la tarea de adelantar el cielo y el quetzal para evitar que no se identificara con el verde de los árboles.
I started to paint first the trunks to create a base, then the branches and finally the leaves, from light to dark tones, taking also the task of bringing forward the sky and the quetzal to avoid that it was not identified with the green of the trees.
Proseguí a pintar el templo de capa en capa para dar profundidad y uniformidad, aplicándole sus respectivas sombras una vez finalicé con todas las capas base.
I proceeded to paint the temple layer by layer to give depth and uniformity, applying their respective shadows once I finished with all the base layers.
En este punto empecé lo más divertido; pintar el jaguar. Primero, le apliqué una primera capa con tonos marrones claros según vi conveniente, y luego fui agregando todas las manchitas hasta sentirme satisfecha.
At this point I started the most fun part; painting the jaguar. First, I applied a first coat with light brown tones as I saw fit, and then I added all the little spots until I felt satisfied.
Ya estaba por finalizar, sólo me faltaba pintar al nativo. Utilicé la misma técnica, capa por capa, sombreando según sentía que iban las sombras y detallando cada parte que sentí conveniente.
I was about to finish, I only had to paint the native. I used the same technique, layer by layer, shading as I felt the shadows were going and detailing each part I felt convenient.

Por último, solo faltaba pintar el césped. La verdad fue en lo que más demoré, porque luego de aplicar una ligera base de verde difuminada con algodón, me puse a detallarlo línea por línea, tono por tono, según mi preferencia.
Finally, the only thing left to do was to paint the lawn. The truth was what took me the longest, because after applying a light base of green blurred with cotton, I started to detail it line by line, tone by tone, according to my preference.
Y listo, di por acabado mi dibujo.
And that's it, I finished my drawing.
