Sketching practice: what you can do with eternity sign

Continuing the sketching practice I wanted to share with you a nice trick how to do the shape of boat. As you might noticed it is a simple shape bit often difficult to get it right because of the form that is wide in the middle and getting narrow at both side.

If you look at the boat you can see that actually there is similarity with the number 8 but in horizontal position. That is also looks like an eternity sign. The only what you then need to do is to form it slightly to modify into the shape of boat.

As an example I have done it and created a random scene from my imagination. Therefore, there is no reference. Of course, the most important after you created a shape of boat is to add shading, because that is something that makes you boat to look realistic. Of course being a boat it should be floating on water and if we say water, then it should be reflection on it which is easy to do, because you need to do the same shape as a boat but in mirrored and upside down way. Do not forget that reflection is always darker than original and also that it is water, so the lines should not be too straight.

That is it simple and romantic scene,
