I can't believe 2021 is almost over! The year brought a lot of change into my life, some of it good, some of it bad. But in this post I want to focus on the art I managed to create.
Ich kann nicht glauben, dass 2021 fast vorbei ist! Das Jahr hat mir viel Schwung in mein Leben gebracht, einiges davon war gut, anderes war schlecht. Aber in diesem Beitrag möchte ich mich auf die Kunstwerke fokussieren, die ich kreiert habe.
January / Januar
I did this piece as part of a "Draw the character below" where a constant chain of comments goes on and you draw the character of the person that posted before you. I'm really happy with the pose and how the eyes turned out here.
Dieses Bild entstand als Teil eines "Zeichne den Charakter unter dir" bei der eine Endlos-Schlange an Kommentaren entsteht und jeder den Charakter der Person vor dir zeichnet. Ich mag es immer noch wie ich die Pose und Augen geschafft habe.
February / Februar
This is the only picture that features one of my own characters! I actually don't draw a lot of art for myself, I often need a reason to draw and that comes from other people, deadlines or contests. I spent a lot of time on this picture and I really like the new things I tried here like the blue fake rim light to create distinct layers between the elements.
Das ist das einzige Bild mit einem Charakter der mir gehört! Ich zeichne sehr selten nur für mich selbst und brauche oft Gründe die von außerhalb kommen wie Sachen für andere Leute oder Wettbewerbe. Ich habe viel Zeit in das Bild gesteckt und bin immer noch zufrieden mit den Sachen die ich ausprobiert habe wie z.B. das blaue Außenlicht um die Ebenen besser zu trennen.

I designed this character for a friend to use in an ARPG (art role play game) and it's based on the plant krishna tulsi. The plant aspects were a bit of challenging but what I'm really proud of is the fur shading.
Ich habe diesen Character für einen Freund gestaltet um ihn in einem ARPG (art role play game) zu benutzen. Das Ganze ist basiert auf die Pflanze krishna tulsi. Die Blätter waren sehr herausfordernd aber besonders stolz bin ich auf die Schatten im Fell.

This was for another trade and I wanted to try a softer approach with it. I think it really suits the character and I'm happy that I tried it out!
Das Bild war wieder für einen Tausch und ich wollte etwas weicher zeichnen als sonst. Ich glaube das steht dem Charakter ziemlich gut und ich bin froh es ausprobiert zu haben!
June / Juni
I don't do a lot of backgrounds so this illustration was a real adventure. I spent a lot of time trying to get the colors right for the atmosphere without everything blending together too much. This was a prompt for an ARPG and I rushed to get it done before the deadline haha
Ich zeichne nur selten Hintergründe deshalb war dieses Bild ein ziemliches Abenteuer. Ich habe sehr lange daran gesessen die Farben der Atmosphäre anzupassen ohne dass alles ineinander blutet. Die Aufgabe war für ein ARPG und ich musste mich ziemlich beeilen um den Einsendeschluss zu schaffen haha
July / Juli
July was the month of artfight were participants are divided into two teams and you "attack" the others by drawing their characters! This was my favourite picture I drew, I played around a lot with multipled techniques of shading and highlights. I love how soft and huggable the character looks here.
Im Juli fand der Artfight statt in dem Teilnehmer in zwei Teams aufgeteilt werden und einander "attackieren" indem sie deren Charaktere zeichnen! Das hier war mein Lieblingsbild, ich habe mit verschiedenen Methoden für Schatten und Licht herum gespielt. Ich liebe wie weich und kuschlig der Charakter aussieht.

A friend talked me into publishing NFTs in August and this is one of the pieces I created. Lineless art is super out of my comfort zone but I wanted to try something special and that is how this little dragon nesting in a water lily got created.
Eine Freundin hat mich im August dazu überredet NFTs zu veröffentlichen und dabei habe ich dieses Bild gezeichnet. Bilder ohne Umrisse sind weit außerhalb meiner Komfortzone aber ich wollte etwas Besonderes probieren und so entstand dieser kleine Drache in einer Seerose.

Growing new plants while burning incense. This deity is the first I created for my "Dimension Drifter" series. Once being worshipped and listening to prayers they are now praying for others. This was a hugely experimental piece from the design to the watercolor aspects and the story. I'm truly grateful that someone loved it enough to buy it.
Neue Pflanzen wachsen lassen während Räucherstäbchen verbrennen. Diese Gottheit war die erste die ich für meine "Dimension Drifter" Serie entworfen habe. Einst angebetet und Gebeten lauschen betet Sie nun für andere. Ich habe viel herum experimentiert, von dem Design zu den Wasserfarben bis hin zu der Geschichte. Ich bin sehr dankbar dafür, dass es jemanden gab der das Ergebnis liebte und gekauft hat.
October / Oktober
This was the second year I tried doing Inktober and I actually managed to draw a piece for every day of October! The theme for this day was "Healer". This is one of my favourites because I got to design something new with elements I would usually not use.
Ich habe dieses Jahr zum zweiten Mal beim Inktober mit gemacht und ich habe es geschafft jeden Tag im Oktober ein Bild zu zeichnen! Das Thema für diesen tag war "Heiler". Dies war eines meiner Lieblingsbilder da ich etwas Neues etnwerfen konnte mit Elementen die ich sonst nicht benutze.
November
2021 was my 11th year doing NaNoWriMo (National Noving Writing Month) and wrote 122k words on a novel. That didn't leave a lot of room for drawing so this ARPG sketch was the only thing I managed to do.
2021 habe ich zum 11. Mal am NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) teilgenommen und dabei 122k Wörter an einem Roman geschrieben. Das ließ nicht viel Zeit zum zeichnen und deshalb habe ich es nur geschafft diese Skizze für ein ARPG zu zeichnen.
December / Dezember
Christmas is the time of gifting so we did a Secret Santa exchange in one of the groups to draw art for eachother. I had the pleasure of doing this piece, the hair and markings were really difficult and gave me something to think. I'm super happy that the recipicent liked it!
Weihnachten ist die Zeit des Schenkens also haben wir in einer Gruppe um Zeichnungen gewichtelt. Ich durfte diesen Charakter zeichnen, die Haare und Markierungen waren wirklich schwierig und gaben mir viel zum Nachdenken. Ich bin sehr glücklich dass die Empfängerin das Bild mag!
And that's it! This was my art summary for 2021. I hope that I can work on doing more fun poses and expressions next year and focus less on getting every single detail accurate. I want to have fun with the drawings without stressing over the one strand of hair being in perfect proportion to the eyebrow slope. I still have a lot to learn and I want to get better. Let's do this!
Und das war's! Das war meine Kunst Zusammenfassung für 2021. Ich möchte nächstes Jahr daran arbeiten bessere Posen und Ausdrücke zu schaffen und mich nicht zu sehr auf Details zu fokussieren. Ich möche Spaß am Zeichnen haben und mir nicht die Haare darüber zerraufen den Winkel der Haarsträhne perfekt an die Augenbraue anzupassen. Ich habe noch viel zu lernen und möche besser werden. Auf auf!
Last years:
Wunderschöne Bilder! Ein paar Details sind mir besonders ins Auge gefallen:
Februar - mir gefällt besonders die Mischung aus "martialisch", warm eingepackt (langer Rollkragen-Pullover, Mütze, dicke Jacke) und dem langen, fließenden Rock.
Juni - es strahlt eine ziemliche Ruhe und Gelassenheit aus. "Entweder es beißt etwas an oder eben nicht". Und ob der Frosch drauf hofft, dass eben nichts am Haken hängt und der Wurm beiseite geworfen wird?
Juli - ich mag, dass da nicht nur am Blümchen gerochen wird, sondern auch Blumen aus dem Fell wachsen :)
Oktober - so viele Details! Die coole Kopfbedeckung, der Ohrring...
NaNoWriMo - reden wir nicht drüber. Mehr als 10k hab ich noch nie geschafft.
Dezember - so cute! Ich mag, wie die Muster an Schweif, Flügeln, Rücken und Hufen klar zueinander gehören, aber unterschiedlich sind.
