When I saw the theme of the anthology "sentient weapons" I really wanted to go sci-fi instead of fantasy. Where the weapon is a next-gen smartgun with a quantum AI. But a few other authors came up with sci-fi/modern plots, so I came up with an alternative high fantasy theme. I think it works. I'll post it here in a fwe months.
