Since I have been on Hive I have discovered lots of artists. I think that is can be good site for that as you can put lots of images in a post and people can show their appreciation with votes. Making a living from art is not easy and can rely on actually selling works.
Early on I found @paolobeneforti and @silviabeneforti from Italy who are both great artists who have been showing there work here for years. I met them both at SF2 in Lisbon.
Whilst we were there Paolo drew a portrait of me that is part of a collection I have from various artists on Hive. I have said for ages that I would buy some of his art and I finally did it. He is making use of the new Hive Store to sell his works. I actually contacted him directly and he was happy to accept $HBD for a piece I liked. I like his fantasy worlds that capture aspects of human imagination.
Today I received a very well wrapped package that had some extra items. As well as the drawing I ordered there was a small painting by Silvia and a signed exhibition catalogue. I have given them a lot of votes over the years and am sharing the rewards from this post with them.
He has done a few that show how we grow from our experiences in life and I particularly liked this one.
I will be getting the pictures framed to put on my wall. We have a few originals here already that we have often found whilst travelling.
I really think we need to show some appreciation for the artists on Hive so that more will want to be here. I enjoy seeing these works in my feed. Perhaps you could own an original piece of art too. If may not be as expensive as you think and you may be able to use your Hive earnings.

I think I may have met this couple in Lisbon they do look familiar.
Did they have paintings in the art exhibition in Lisbon?
They were involved with the exhibition, but I'm not sure I got there.

Strong roots is very interesting in deed, there is more to life than what we can see. I know we have many talented musicians and artists on Hive, sadly I do not know how to appreciate culture 😌 but I hope they find many others who do
We all have our own tastes. I'm no art expert, but I know what I like.

Silvia and Paolo are so talented! I've followed both of them for years. I had no idea about the Hive Store! I'll have to figure out how to utilize that for books and poetry. It reminds me of the old eBay clone that was built on Steemit all those many years ago.
There are so many talented artists on Hive that it’s easy to just scroll past, but actually reaching out and buying a piece is the best way to show appreciation.

I think it would be great for other artists too to arrange to sell their artwork. They put so much efforts and need to be valued.
I expect others have sold art here. The store may make it easier, but it could need further development.
Those are pretty cool. I wish I had an artistic bone in my body, but sadly all of that passed me by!
I can't paint, but I would like to try more drawing. I think most people can do something artistic even if it's not good enough to sell. The world needs artists.

The great thing with Hive is that you can earn just by posting your art. If you can find buyers then that's a bonus.

This is very cool... my wife showed me this feature a couple of days ago. Crazy potential... and, of course.. A very talented friend you have.
Some excellent showcases of art here and yeah Hive would be a perfect place for all Artists to come. will have to explore some feeds and catch myself up with what has been happening on Hive in places i don't keep tabs on as much.

It obviously requires trust, but then people could lose their reputation if they cheated customers. We have seen some fraudsters try to claim the art of others as their own, but they tend to get found out. Artists can link back to Hive from their own sites or other social media.
