Weekend Scribbles with charcoal pencil

in Sketchbook24 days ago (edited)

Some of my art supplies came in this week and I decided to explore some of them. My favorite of them all is the charcoal pencils and I couldn’t wait to try them out. I decoded fi create this portrait of a man using the charcoal pencil with a target of no erasing so I can improve my hand-eye coordination. After drawing out wwith scribbles, then I used a smudge which was also ordered to blend the charcoal and the effect was really impressive as it was quite fast compared to a time when we ysed cotton bud to blend (which took hours and wouldnt give an even blend). Then i used the white charcoal to add highlights to some areas, but it wasnt as impressive to use, perhaps it is because of the brand as white charcoal used to really handy for me. This steps involved in the portrait are shared below and I hooe you love it.
