[Digital Art] Redesign "Spirited Away"

It's been about 9 months since my last publication, many things have happened, from good to bad moments, without realizing I was leaving aside one of my passions, Art, today I have decided to resume this illustrious work that excites me to do, in turn continue to polish my technique, improve as an artist and in turn share with this community my progress, I'M BACK GUYS!

For this first installment I thought of making a series of adaptations of popular anime, to my own style of drawing, giving a more realistic touch to them. We start with the title "Spirited Away".

Chihiro is a ten year old girl traveling by car with her parents. After passing through a tunnel, they arrived in a fantasy realm where there was no place for humans, only first and second class deities. When she learned that her parents had turned into pigs, Chihiro felt very lonely and scared, now she will do everything she can to escape from that place and save her family.

Below I show you the step by step development of the illustration, I hope you like it.

Han pasado unos 9 meses desde mi última publicación, muchas cosas han pasado, desde momentos buenos hasta malos, sin darme cuenta fui dejando a un lado una de mis pasiones, El Arte, hoy he decidido retomar este ilustre trabajo que me emociona hacer, a su vez seguir puliendo mi técnica, mejorar como artista y a su vez compartir con esta comunidad mis avances, ¡ESTOY DE VUELTA CHICOS!

Para esta primera entrega pensé en realizar una serie de adaptaciones de animes populares, a mi estilo propio de dibujo, dándole un toque más realista a los mismos. Comenzamos con el título de “El viaje de Chihiro”.

Chihiro es una niña de diez años que viaja en coche con sus padres. Después de pasar por un túnel, llegaron a un reino de fantasía donde no había lugar para humanos, solo deidades de primera y segunda clase. Cuando supo que sus padres se habían convertido en cerdos, Chihiro se sintió muy sola y asustada, ahora ella hará todo lo posible para escapar de ese lugar y salvar a su familia.

A continuación les muestro el paso a paso del desarrollo de la ilustración, espero sea de su agrado.

Drawing development / Desarrollo ✏️

Here I wanted to represent the work of "Spirited Away" with a more realistic touch, the main characters, the little Chihiro is shown as a young teenager, keeping her clothes, the typical hairstyle and the blush on her cheeks that characterizes her so much, for the "faceless" ghost was completely redesigned, changing her body to that of an adult human, with formal black clothes and keeping the mask of the original design.

Acá quise representar la obra de “El viaje de Chihiro” con un toque más realista, los protagonistas, la pequeña Chihiro se muestra como una joven adolescente, manteniendo su vestimenta, el típico peinado y el rubor en sus mejillas que tanto la caracteriza, para el fantasma “sin rostro” se rediseño completamente, cambiando su cuerpo al de un humano adulto, con vestimenta negra formal y manteniendo la máscara del diseño original.

I start the drawing by making a sketch of the characters and the train scenery, darken the base layer a little and then determine the base colors. In this case I start first with the character of Chihiro.

Se inicia el dibujo realizando un boceto de los personajes y el escenario del tren, oscurezco un poco la capa base y luego determino los colores base. En este caso inicio primero con el personaje de Chihiro.

I'm adding more details to the character Chihiro, such as facial features, hair, some general shadows and shines to the skin and different shades, until I get a tone as natural as possible.

Voy agregando más detalles al personaje Chihiro, como las facciones del rostro, cabello, algunas sombras y brillos generales a la piel y diferentes tonalidades, hasta obtener un tono lo más natural posible.

Now I move on to the development of his clothes, in this step I place the texture of it, I also determine the areas of light and darkness. I also determine the base colors of the faceless ghost character.

Ahora paso al desarrollo de su ropa, en este paso coloco la textura de la misma, también determino las zonas de luz y oscuridad. Además paso a determinar los colores base del personaje del fantasma sin rostro.

In this step I add the textures of the ghost's clothing, its shines and shadows, I design some gray gloves and its particular mask.

En este paso agrego las texturas de la vestimenta del fantasma, sus brillos y sombras, diseño unos guantes grises y su particular mascara.

Finally I develop the train scenery, determine the general shadows, the sun and some clouds, play a little with the tonalities and filters to obtain a sunset look.

Para finalizar voy desarrollando el escenario del tren, determino las sombras generales, el sol y unas nubes, juego un poco con las tonalidades y filtros para obtener un aspecto de atardecer.
