Good day Glen, has it been that long? I didn't think so but will take your word for it :)
I did wonder in the halving would be a bit like a rained off firework display - the movement in price has seemingly come over the following year or two and so I think we have some time to wait and see if anything happens.
If think it's just half the rewards for mining a block, and so you could say that it's costing twice as much to try to achieve this :)
