How I Discovered Steem and Hive

Hello Hive friends and family,

I just wanted to tell you a quick story about how I discovered Steemit which led me to Hive .

It all started out in March of 2017 when I decided to go to Las Vegas Nevada. I filled up my gas tank here in Oshkosh Wisconsin US and I started the long drive West. I drove straight through from Oshkosh Wisconsin to a little town called Rifle Colorado. By the time I got to Rifle Colorado I decided to check into a hotel because I was dead tired from all of the driving.

I continued my journey to Las Vegas Nevada in the morning. By Sundown I had arrived at my destination, the fabulous Vegas Nevada.

Las Vegas is a gambling city filled with casinos in the middle of the Nevada desert. As they approached the city of Las Vegas all I could see were neon lights everywhere.

I navigated my way to the "old strip" in Las Vegas and decided upon the Four Queens hotel to get some slumber.

I woke up the next morning around 10 a.m. and headed down to the D Casino. The D Casino has a two-way Bitcoin ATM where I was going to cash out some of my Bitcoin to pay for the trip. I reached the front doors of The D Casino and navigated my way through the crowded slot machine filled casino until I reached the Bitcoin ATM in the back. I whipped out my Bitcoin wallet and I sent the astonishing sum of 2 BTC to trade for cash. The Bitcoin ATM printed me a receipt with a redemption code. All I had had to do now is wait for Bitcoin confirmations so I could redeem my cash.

It was the height of the last Bitcoin boom so the network was pretty bogged down that day. I sat by a slot machine and suspiciously waited for the next half an hour which seemed like an eternity. I was suddenly met by the main manager of the casino. The manager introduced himself and wanted to know why I was loitering and waiting for so long. I informed him that I was using the Bitcoin ATM and was just waiting for my confirmations so I could get my cash. The manager of the casino then told me that he owns cryptocurrencies himself. We started talking about various cryptocurrencies that we were holding. He told me that he owned a cryptocurrency name Steem. I told him that I'd never heard of Steem and asked him if he could please explain it to me. At first he was apprehensive to explain Steem to me because he said most people don't understand cryptos. I assured him that I understood a lot because I went to college for computer networking and invested in Bitcoin. So he decided to tell me about the entire Steem ecosystem in detail. And then he did something that I will never forget, he placed his hand on my shoulder and looked me deep in the eyes and told me that I need to buy Steem coin right now. I assured him that I would definitely check it out and read more about Steem coin.

That day is a day that I will never forget. When the manager of the D Casino told me to buy Steem coin it was $0.10. I wish I would have listened to him and bought as much as I could afford because the next thing that happened was simply amazing, Steem coin skyrocketed from $0.10 to over $6! If I would have listened to the manager of the D casino I would have been rich.

After realizing what kind of horrific mistake I had made by not getting Steem coin in March of 2017, I started buying as much Steem as I could afford. I'm going to HODL my Steem and Hive for now. I think Steem and Hive could go up to $6 and I am really excited to be a part of Hive and can't wait to see the new highs the future brings.

I love these kind of stories and i hope your investment sky-rockets this year :D

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed my story. I think Hive will defiantly sky-rocket for quite awhile. I feel like we are only in the first stage of adoption. Cheers to many more years on Hive.

😎🤙 cool story! I also joined steemit before, but the story is pretty boring.. just me doing some research online about bitcoin, and then i saw something about steemit. I thought it was just like Facebook, didn't really think about the earning or anything else. I almost quit, too, since I didn't know anyone in it or what was even going on when I went on there..

Imagine if u still had all those bitcoins now.. :P oh well, it's all good!
