Well,
I got screwed! Literally!
Ran over a damn screw in the driveway.
Our driveway is over 400 meters long which is pretty extreme and it’s not paved it’s filled with recycling. Recycling is ground up tile and stone from left over construction projects which works good and is really cheap.
But I guess there was a screw in there cause caught a flat!
Ah well, shit happens.

Good thing I brought some redneck magic over with we from the US and quickly rigged up some homemade jack stands to hold our bus up. My jack must have been made for a go-kart cause it only lifts 3 inches each go so I had to lift it then add a brick, lift it, add a brick, lift it add a brick.

Dropped the tire off this morning and haven’t heard anything yet. Either they wrote down my number wrong or are really busy today.

Hopefully it’s finished by tomorrow.
Hope you had a better start to the day than I did and if it’s worse sorry about that!
I had a month where I ran over 3 screws.... I was starting to wonder if someone was leaving them under our car... but we did have quite a few construction sites along the road at the time!
Anyway, that brick/jack construction.... hmmm... I wouldn't be getting under that!
I pick up screws and nails from the road when on walks. I find several hundred each year. My best guess is that contractors sweep construction debris into the back of the pickup and let them bounce out into the road.
That would explain it! I drop these things all the time when just holding a couple... I can imagine on a construction site, they are just going everywhere!
IMHO, It is worthwhile to keep a tin can around that you fill up with rusty nails picked up off the street. It is surprising how often one can fill the can. Most nails are recyclable. However the price for iron is only about $150 per ton.
Okay, I am a bit obsessive about recycling. I keep two empty soup cans (tin cans are usually made of steel). I test the nails with a magnet. Those that stick go in the magnetic can. Those that don't go in the other can.
I suspect that I have saved at least a dozen flat tires and recycled a few extra pounds of metal for the obsession.
Hahaha what? Solid as a rock!
Definitely made of rocks...
You've just reminded me of the time my hubby did the brick and small jack approach!
That is a man with a can do attitude 👍🤣
